Recently, the Shenyang Museum, which has been in preparation for 36 years and has been under construction for more than 3 years, has officially opened to the public and has become a new cultural landmark in Northeast China.

As a national historical and cultural city, Shenyang, Liaoning Province, has not had a comprehensive urban museum. The completion of the Shenyang Museum fills this gap. Shenyang Museum has a construction area of about 22,000 square meters, an exhibition area of about 6,700 square meters, a total of 2,535 cultural relics (sets), and five major exhibitions were launched on the occasion of the opening of the museum, which fully reflects the history and culture of Shenyang.

Numerous treasures are on display for the first time

Walking into the Shenyang Museum's "Shenyang History Exhibition" exhibition, the city's long and rich historical picture slowly unfolds in front of your eyes. 110,000 years ago, there were traces of human activity in this land. 7,200 years ago, the ancestors of Xinle culture flourished here. More than 3,000 years ago, many bronze tribes exchanged and merged. 2300 years ago, the Yan Kingdom set up a county and built a city here. During the Qin and Han dynasties, Shenyang belonged to Liaodong County, the Tang Dynasty belonged to Shenzhou, Shenzhou flourished during the Liaojin Period, and the Yuan Dynasty changed Shenzhou to Shenyang Road, and the name Shenyang appeared for the first time in history. In the Qing Dynasty, Shenyang was the capital of Shengjing and was highly respected. After experiencing the storms of modern times and the smoke of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, Shenyang was liberated in 1948, and the ancient city opened a new brilliant chapter.

The exhibition "Shenyang History Exhibition" brings together the archaeological achievements of the Shenyang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology for more than 70 years, and many treasures are exhibited for the first time. Excavated in 1965 and never exhibited for more than half a century, the fine cultural relics of the Zhengjiawazi Bronze Short Sword Tomb were collectively unveiled for the first time, showing the world the style of the northeast bronze short sword culture. Ye Maotai Liao Dynasty Xiao family tomb unearthed many cultural relics rare in the world, such as high grade white jade belt decoration, exquisite Liao chicken crown pot, white porcelain three-in-one powder box, etc., reflecting the grand situation of ethnic integration in the Liao Dynasty. The epitaph of Cao Xueqin's ancestor Cao Fu was exhibited for the first time, providing strong physical evidence for the study of Cao Xueqin's origin. In addition, there are the earliest Liao Dynasty stone letters with the word "Shenzhou", found in the Ming Xuande furnace in the stupa, carrying the dragon purification bottle of the sincere heart of the offering Buddha...

According to the rarity of cultural relics, the Shenyang Museum selected 3 "treasures of the town hall": the Liao Dynasty gold mask was first discovered in Liaoning and only 3 in the country; the Liao Dynasty white glazed black color plum vase was an isolated product in the sea, which was the first time that the autumn bowl hunting scene seen so far appeared on porcelain; the white glazed brown color plum bottle was painted with exquisite peony patterns, proving that the underglaze color process had appeared in the Liao Dynasty, nearly half a century earlier than previously recognized.

Digital displays are full of highlights

Shenyang Museum has made great efforts in "seeing, listening, touching and interacting", and there are as many as 24 digital application projects in the museum. Multiple exhibition halls are equipped with multimedia digital suspension guide equipment, and the audience can watch the 360-degree high-definition dynamic map of key cultural relics and listen to VR explanations.

In the 300-square-meter tall and open space on the first floor of the museum, the 9-meter-high ice screen is shocking, and the "Sunshine History Clock" inspired by the sundial design allows the audience to feel the change of Shenyang's history and the transformation of time and space. In the "Shenyang Yuanliu" hall, a set of holographic images of Neolithic fishing, hunting and sacrifice recreates the daily life of the ancestors of Xinle more than 7,000 years ago. In the hall of "Heavenly Family Shengjing", the "Twelve Hours of Shengjing" in which the princes and nobles and the people of Li min live together are displayed in the form of changing light and shadow. In the "Modern Wind and Cloud" hall, the market scene of Shenyang's old street was restored, standing on the second floor of a shop and looking out the window, you can see the scene of the three-dimensional projection - the People's Liberation Army and citizens celebrate the liberation of Shenyang, and the whole city is new.

The museum also designed a series of "historical gates", combining physical objects and light and shadow to guide the audience into the historical situation. In the transition area between the Neolithic age and the Bronze Age, the fire light penetrates the layers of glass, presenting a fantastic mirror space; in the Exhibition Area of the Liaojin Age, the real shops and the virtual bridge flowing water are integrated, allowing the audience to feel the prosperity of Shenzhou thousands of years ago; in the "Big Ten Faces" exhibition area of Shenyang's famous cultural relics, the already blurred words on the stone tablets are reproduced in front of the eyes through projection technology.

Launched the LiaoHe River Basin Theme Exhibition

In addition to displaying Shenyang's local cultural relics, Shenyang Museum has also cooperated with a number of museums to launch a New Year's Eve exhibition - "Brilliant And Integrated- A Collection of Fine Works from the Collection of the Liaohe River Basin Museum". The exhibition brings together more than 450 pieces (sets) of fine cultural relics from 21 museums in the Liaohe River Basin, and for the first time focuses on the Liaohe civilization.

The jade pig dragon excavated from the Niuheliang site tells the brilliance of the Hongshan culture more than 5,000 years ago; the giant stone chimes from the lower cultural sites of Xiajiadian can still play the music of Qingyue; the Shang zhou bronze heavyware in the Xiliao River Basin proves that the evolution of liaohe culture is synchronized with the civilization of the Central Plains; the gorgeous former Yan Jinbu shake, which reflects the exquisite life and technological level of the Xianbei people; the complete set of music playing porcelain figurines, Huren figurines, etc., reflecting the population collection and economic prosperity of the Liao River Basin in the Tang Dynasty; the unique chicken crown pot and chicken leg bottle in the Liao Dynasty. It's amazing...

In order to promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning, Shenyang Museum also organized the "Liao River Basin History and Culture Forum" and invited overseas experts to give online lectures.

Creating a "Museum of the People"

Shenyang Museum is positioned as "Shenyang People's Own Museum", and during the construction period, the "Million Collection Plan" was launched to collect collections that record the lives of the people of Shenyang, have the unique cultural imprint of Shenyang, and reflect the development and construction process of Shenyang. In the more than a month since the event was launched, hundreds of collections have been donated by Shenyang citizens, and a special donation ceremony was held on the opening day of the museum.

Located on the third floor of the Shenyang Museum, the Family Education Hall is an experience space for children and teenagers, and after the opening of the museum, the first study activity was launched, with the themes of "Sandbox Treasure Hunting" and "Crossing the Millennium", so that children can understand the historical context of Shenyang through the process of "thinking before learning", "learning in the middle of the tour" and "waking up after learning".

Combined with the collection of characteristic cultural relics, Shenyang Museum launched a series of cultural and creative products, and produced 10 cultural relics theme medals, placed at the entrance of each exhibition hall, attracting many audiences to punch in.
