On March 1, 1940, Wang Miaoxu participated in the Battle of Zaoyi, after the martyrdom of General Zhang Zizhong, Wang Miaoxu led his troops to resist the Japanese army at Dahong Mountain for more than 20 days, and when the pass and position were lost, he insisted on fighting guerrilla warfare with the Japanese army on the mountain and blocked the Japanese army for more than 10 days.
