On December 9, 1908, Meng Xiaodong was born in a Peking Opera family in Tongqing Street, Minguo Road, Shanghai, and when he was only 4 years old, he followed his father to practice the basic skills of singing Peking Opera at home. Later, his father let Meng Xiaodong worship Sun Pai, Qiu Yuexiang and a number of Peking Opera masters as masters, and when he was a teenager, he followed the master in formal performances of business dramas, using the stage name Meng Xiaodong when listing, and soon became the lead singer of the stage.
Later, at the birthday party of Wang Kemin, a senior official of the Beiyang government, 19-year-old Meng Xiaodong and 32-year-old Mei Lanfang became acquainted, and at that time Mei Lanfang's name could be said to be known to everyone, equivalent to today's Tianwang superstar.
At the banquet site, Meng Xiaodong and Mei Lanfang sang a song "Dragon Play Phoenix" together, which ushered in a burst of applause. At that time, Meng Xiaodong was not yet married, and Mei Lanfang had divorced twice and was now single, so the mei party corner wanted to poke and the pair of talented women. And Meng Xiaodong and Mei Lanfang also have deep love for each other, and naturally walk together.
After marriage, Meng Xiaodong lived in the Feng Mansion and lived the life of a broad wife. However, the marriage between the two did not last long, it ended for various reasons, Mei Lanfang did not know how to love a person at all, and Meng Xiaodong's affection was the most true. So that the failure of this marriage made Meng Xiaodong seriously ill, and then went to Tianjin to recuperate.

In 1935, there was a flood on the Yangtze River. Du Yuesheng invited Meng Xiaodong, who was living in Shanghai, in the name of "disaster relief charity performance", in order to let Meng Xiaodong nod, Du Yuesheng also deliberately let his aunt Yao Yulan be a lobbyist, on the one hand, it was a charity performance, on the other hand, it was an invitation from his good sister Yao Yulan, Meng Xiaodong naturally had no reason not to agree.
After the charity performance, Du Yuesheng finally mixed with Meng Xiaodong. He told Meng Xiaodong that if there was anything difficult to do, he could come to him, and Meng Xiaodong was greatly moved.
Later, under Yao Yulan's poke and attack, Meng Xiaodong eventually became Du Yuesheng's fifth aunt, and among Du Yuesheng's many aunts, Du Yuesheng's favorite one was Meng Xiaodong.
In 1949, Du Yuesheng was ready to move her family to Hong Kong, but Meng Xiaodong refused, she said: "I follow, count the girls, or girlfriends?" So she asked Du Yuesheng to officially marry her before going to Hong Kong, and Du Yuesheng naturally agreed. However, Du Yuesheng died only 2 years after marriage.
After Du Yuesheng's death, Meng Xiaodong received 20,000 silver yuan, but where is this money enough?
