The Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics (hereinafter referred to as the "Winter Olympics") is an important scene for the demonstration and promotion of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles and hydrogen refueling stations, and major hydrogen energy companies have successively landed in Beijing and Zhangjiakou to actively participate in the holding of the Green Winter Olympics.

Near the opening of the Winter Olympics, related hydrogen energy supply projects and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles used for regional services have been put into use. Recently, the "gold digging" winter Olympic hydrogen energy companies have disclosed the latest developments.

Fuel cell and parts enterprises

Up to now, the proportion of Yihuatong fuel cell system supporting the Winter Olympic service vehicles has exceeded 90%; the passenger car supported by the hydrogen energy "hydrogen teng" fuel cell system of Guodian Investment has been put into trial operation in the competition area; and the Yellow River X7 snow wax vehicle equipped with Weichai power fuel cell system has also been successfully delivered and put into use.

Shenli Technology stacks are equipped with more than 400 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to serve the Winter Olympics. At present, Shenli Technology's new generation of B9P series flexible graphite molded plate stack has reached the level of 159kW power stable operation for 1 hour and efficiency >50%, with the advantages of wide operating conditions and easy heat dissipation, realizing -35 °C no auxiliary heat start and localization application of key components.

At present, Yijia Jie Drive is fully serving the supply of fuel cell engine parts for the Winter Olympic Games. Up to now, the company has signed more than 2,000 sets of fuel cell voltage inspection module orders, with the promotion opportunity of the Winter Olympics, the fuel cell system components of YijiaJie Drive are beginning to move towards mass supply.

Fuel cell vehicle enterprises

Toyota Motor has provided more than 2,200 Winter Olympic service vehicles, and 200 hydrogen fuel cell buses have been delivered in November; Beiqi Foton expects about 600 fuel cell vehicles to be put into use in various winter Olympic areas. In addition, Yutong Bus, Zhongtong Bus and Geely Commercial Vehicle are also providing hydrogen fuel cell buses for use in the Winter Olympics.

On November 16, China FAW Hongqi H5 hydrogen fuel cell Winter Olympic service vehicle completed the delivery ceremony. The hongqi H5 hydrogen fuel cell vehicle is built based on the H5 platform of hongqi, equipped with a 50kW class fuel cell engine independently developed by FAW, with a maximum design speed of 160km/h, a hydrogen consumption of 0.82kg per 100 kilometers, and a driving range of 520km, which can achieve low temperature start-up of -30 °C, and the comprehensive indicators are at the leading level in China.

At present, Sichuan FAW Toyota more than 100 hydrogen fuel cell buses to ensure the travel services of the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games are stepping up production, the batch of vehicles using toyota motor and Yihuatong cooperation in the development of hydrogen fuel cell power system, by 74kW hydrogen fuel cell and 70MPa high-pressure hydrogen storage system, can store hydrogen 8kg of hydrogen, cruising range of up to 600km.

Energy companies

Sinopec, PetroChina, China Electric Power and other energy and power enterprises and power companies have successively put into use the hydrogen energy supply projects of the Winter Olympics; Jinghui Gas, Beijing Haiboer and other gas companies have also seized the opportunity of the Winter Olympics to ensure the hydrogen demand for hydrogen vehicles in the competition area. Recently, PetroChina has ushered in a new development.

On December 6, the high-purity hydrogen produced by PetroChina North China Petrochemical was transported to the PetroChina Jinlong Integrated Energy Service Station, which will provide clean energy for the "Meet in Beijing" test match. PetroChina built a new by-product hydrogen purification project in North China Petrochemical, and in two months it took two months to complete and put into use a 500Nm/h by-product hydrogen purification device, and the hydrogen purity reached more than 99.999%.

Up to now, PetroChina has built 4 hydrogen refueling stations in the Winter Olympics area, and the hydrogen supply capacity during the Winter Olympics will reach 5500 kg/day, which can provide services for nearly 1,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles, and the mileage is expected to exceed 2 million kilometers.

Hydrogen energy equipment enterprises

Zhongding Hengsheng, CIMC ENRIC, Hedleysen, Guofu Hydrogen, Air Liquid Houpu and other hydrogen refueling station related equipment enterprises have won a large number of orders under the opportunity of accelerating the use of hydrogen refueling stations at the Winter Olympics. Recently, another batch of hydrogen energy-related equipment companies have successively delivered orders for the Winter Olympics.

Driven by the demand for large-scale renewable energy hydrogen production, Cockelier Jingli provided alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production equipment with a hydrogen production capacity of 1200m/h for the Winter Olympics. The equipment can ensure that the fluctuation adjustment range of renewable energy hydrogen production is 20%-135%; the new contactless resistance combination of highly active electrodes is adopted, which changes the contact conductive to the direct conduction of the electrode, eliminates the influence of the contact resistance, and can achieve a tank current density of more than 4000A per square meter, effectively reducing the energy consumption per unit of gas production, and also effectively reducing the investment in equipment.

Tianhai Hydrogen Energy, a subsidiary of Tianhai Industry, successfully delivered 140 sets of 70MPa hydrogen storage systems for winter Olympic vehicles. At the beginning of this year, the company received the task of providing hydrogen fuel vehicle systems for winter Olympic vehicles, and signed an order for 140 sets of 70MPa hydrogen storage systems for winter Olympic vehicles in July 2021, becoming the first batch of domestic vehicle 70MPa hydrogen fuel system suppliers.

On November 14, the last batch of equipment for six sets of 32MPa hydrogen charging compressors produced and manufactured by Fengdian Jinkaiwei was successfully delivered to the Zhangjiakou project site. The project is an important part of the hydrogen energy guarantee of the Winter Olympic Games, and it is also the first large-scale 30MPa hydrogen filling project in China.
