On January 1, the reporter learned from the Second Bureau of China Construction that the West Island Financial Center, the highest landmark building under construction in the new area, was fully completed on the first day of the new year, and entered the accelerated period of ground construction.

It is understood that the project consists of two 200-meter-high twin towers, the two twin towers have a unique shape, symbolizing the "two hundred years" goal, but also has the architectural image of "the gate of the times, the pearl of brilliance".

After the completion of the project, it will become a large-scale urban complex with the financial headquarters office of the new area as the main body, introduce the headquarters of the top five financial enterprises in various industries such as banking, securities or insurance or its wholly-owned subsidiaries with direct investment, and become the most important industry and regional new landmark in the Shanghai Lingang Modern Service Industry Open Zone.

Han Xu, chief engineer of the second bureau of the project construction party, introduced that the project is located in the west island of Dishui Lake, because it is surrounded by the lake on all sides, the quality requirements for precipitation and basement waterproof construction are high, the raft board in the tower area is as thick as 3 meters, and the project adopts innovative technology to ensure temperature control and maintenance in large-volume construction, laying a solid "foundation" for the construction of the project.

The project also runs through the concept of green, low-carbon and energy-saving as a whole, comprehensively adopts a variety of low-carbon energy-saving measures, protects the natural landscape ecology of Dishui Lake and West Island, fully implements the requirements of sponge city, uses wind energy and solar energy in a number of means, and adopts comprehensive energy and other measures to improve energy utilization efficiency, and creates a green energy-saving demonstration project in Lingang.
