Taiwan's Lianhe Pao news on January 1, Taiwan wafer foundry World Advanced announced today (1) that the company signed a contract on April 28, 2021 to purchase its L3B plant and factory facilities in Lixing 2nd Road, Hsinchu Science Park, at a price of NT$905 million (about RMB207 million), and has completed the delivery on January 1, 2022.
World Advanced has officially taken over the operation of the plant and become the company's fab five. World Advanced said that the plant facilities of Fab 5 will accommodate about 40,000 pieces of 8-inch wafer capacity per month to meet the increasing capacity needs of medium- and long-term customers.
