On December 31, the first Tesla center in Xinjiang, the Urumqi Tesla Center, officially ushered in the opening. This is also a sign of Tesla's official layout of offline stores and service networks in Xinjiang.
It is reported that the store is located at No. 1725 Zhenxing East Road, Midong District, Urumqi, in Xinjiang's largest automobile city (Midong Automobile City).

The Urumqi Tesla Experience Center is Tesla's first store in Xinjiang, the 11th store in the northwest region, and the 211th store in the country, covering 60 cities Chinese mainland. Covering an area of 1,620 square meters, the experience center can provide pre-sales consultation, scheduled test drive, new car testing, insurance consultation, pro-license processing, after-sales maintenance and other services for consumers in Urumqi and surrounding areas in Xinjiang.

It is understood that Xinjiang attaches great importance to the development of the new energy automobile industry, is actively studying the introduction of new energy vehicles and other leading enterprises, supporting the development of new energy vehicle supporting industries, encouraging the research and development of charging facilities, promoting the energy conversion of new energy vehicles integrated with the smart grid, the research and development and industrialization of testing and maintenance technologies and equipment, while continuing to exempt new energy vehicles from vehicle purchase tax, and encouraging the consumption of new energy vehicles.
Tesla officially laid out offline stores and service networks in Xinjiang
According to the data, as of now, the number of new energy vehicles in Xinjiang is close to 50,000, and the sales of new energy vehicles in Urumqi in the first seven months of 2021 have also achieved a substantial year-on-year increase of 298.29%.
Tesla has built 2 supercharger stations and 14 supercharger piles in Urumqi. Throughout Xinjiang, Tesla has built a total of 7 superchargering piles and 36 superchargering piles, with 6 destination charging piles and 12 destination charging piles, which can well protect the driving and charging experience of car owners.

Re-walking this Silk Road super charging route, it can be found that from Urumqi to the west, through Wusu, Bole, etc., finally arrived at the westernmost end of the Tesla super charging network, Khorgos; east along Shanshan, Hami, Guazhou, Jiuquan, Zhangye, Wuwei, Lanzhou, Dingxi, Tianshui, Baoji, arrived in Xi'an.

From Urumqi to the southwest, it is a must-go Duku Highway in Xinjiang, known as the "most beautiful self-driving highway", Tesla along the way arranged the Wusu Super Charging Station and Narathi Grassland, Bayinbrook Grassland, Kucha and Turks Bagua City four destination charging stations.

At the end of 2020, the domestic section of Tesla's "Silk Road" charging line was fully connected. The line runs west from Xi'an to Urumqi, spanning 2,600 kilometers, with 11 Tesla charging stations on the way, including 8 Tesla supercharger stations including Jiuquan, Hami and Urumqi.

In June 2021, the supercharger station in Khorgos, Xinjiang, was also officially opened. Subsequently, in August 2021, Tesla's "Northwest Grand Loop" charging line was fully unblocked, and at this point, Tesla's charging network was completed Chinese mainland and all provincial capital cities were fully covered.
It should be known that the Xinjiang region is in a low temperature environment for a long time a year, and the use of electric vehicles may be subject to greater restrictions, such as shrinking endurance, difficulty in charging and other issues. With the further improvement of charging infrastructure and the opening of the Tesla Center in Urumqi, the sales of Tesla vehicles in Xinjiang are expected to further increase.
