On May 7, the Jiangsu Provincial Market Supervision Bureau issued a notice on the non-conformity of 6 batches of food (Issue 23 of 2021). Among them, the wild mountain pepper claw (500g/bag, Ningfu and graphic trademarks, 2020-10-02) produced by Jiangsu Ningfu Food Co., Ltd., sold by Xuyi Branch of Jiangsu Suguo Supermarket Co., Ltd., the total number of colonies does not meet the provisions of national food safety standards.
The total number of colonies is an indicative microbiological indicator, which is mainly used to evaluate the cleanliness of food and reflect whether the food meets hygienic requirements during production. The reason why the total number of colonies exceeds the standard may be that the initial number of raw materials and accessories used by individual enterprises is high, and the sanitary conditions of the production and processing process are not strictly controlled according to the requirements, or the cleaning and disinfection of packaging containers is not in place, and it may also be related to the lax sealing of product packaging and improper control of storage and transportation conditions.
