During the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Chinese military and civilians paid a terrible price in order to resist the Japanese aggressors, from 1931 to 1945, because the civilian population killed and injured in the war was as high as 37 million, and the wartime martyrs were as high as 3 million, if there was no war, then these people would not die, all of which were created by Japan's Emperor Hirohito and militarist thoughts, when someone shouted: The land is not divided into north and south, people are young and old, they all have the responsibility of defending the land and resisting the slogan, People from all walks of life dedicated their strength to resist Japan, including students, merchants, bandits, workers, etc.
In the War of Resistance there was a large landlord, his name was Wan Chunpu, born in 1881, is a native of Lanling County, Shandong, from childhood like to ride horses and archery, befriended people with patriotic aspirations, because of the local bandits rampant, in order to protect the safety of the people, he called on the villagers to set up a militia organization in 1918 to resist the attack of bandits, very influential in the local area, after the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Wan Chunpu will be the militia organization of several surrounding counties and towns unified, play the banner of defending the land and resisting the war, and resolutely do not be a slave to the country. After dealing with the Japanese invaders to the end, this unit was later organized by the Eighth Route Army into the People's Anti-Japanese Volunteer Brigade of the Sulu-Yu-Anhui Border Region.
In February 1939, the Eighth Route Army's Lunan Special Committee was surrounded by more than 500 Japanese puppet troops, Wan Chunpu took the initiative to lead the army to block the Japanese army, and his 19-year-old son Wan Guoying was shot and killed in a fierce battle, he endured grief and shouted: Guoying died for the liberation of the country, he set an example for us, successfully covered the task of transferring the headquarters organs, and later the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army arrived in the Baoligu Mountains, Wan Chunpu not only supplied all his grain and timber for military supplies. He also raised more than 100,000 kilograms of grain and 300 silver dollars from relatives and friends to support the Eighth Route Army in resisting Japan.
At the end of 1941, the 337th Brigade of the 51st Army of the Nationalist Army took advantage of the opportunity of the Lunan Military Region to move to other places, occupied the four counties of Lin, Tan, Fei, and Yi, and also captured Wan Chunpu's daughter and son, threatening him: As long as you join the Nationalist army, at least give you a regimental commander, otherwise you will arrest your whole family and take your ancestral grave, but Wan Chunpu said that the child is innocent, and if you want to kill, you will be killed, I joined the Eighth Route Army to resist Japan, not to become an official, and I have decided this road, so that the nationalist army's surrender plan has failed miserably.
In October 1942, Wan Chunpu passed his 60th birthday, even Luo Ronghuan, political commissar of the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army, Acting Division Commander Chen Guang, and Director of the Political Department Xiao Hua all sent congratulations, and he said with tears in his eyes: We must resist the war to the end and repay the people's concern, in 1943, the county guerrilla brigade led by Wan Chunpu and the Lunan detachment were merged into the 5th Regiment of the Lunan Military Region, and he was also appointed deputy commander of the Lunan Military Region, from a large landlord to the deputy commander of the Eighth Route Army. He became the vice chairman of the Jinan Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference until his death in 1972 at the age of 91.
