In order to defend his hometown, he beat up the devils and eliminated the traitors. During a Japanese attack on the Furnace, his son Wan Guoying was killed.
Luo Ronghuan learned from the mouths of the local party comrades that Wan Chunpu was an enlightened gentry with a patriotic heart and that he was a target of struggle, so he had time to chat with him, propagate the party's ideas, talk about the truth of the War of Resistance, and talk about the situation at home and abroad.
Wan Chunpu admired the profound knowledge of Political Commissar Luo, and saw that the Eighth Route Army was strictly disciplined, completely different from the Kuomintang Army, and was a benevolent and righteous division, and he also had a good feeling.
In the early winter of this year, the Japanese army in Lunan drew more than 1,000 japanese puppet troops from various strongholds, and the troops attacked the furnace in several ways. At this time, the division headquarters had only one company of the special service battalion. Luo Ronghuan took the organ troops up the North Mountain, personally commanded a company of secret agents, scattered and ambushed on various hills in squads, and set up suspicious soldiers everywhere, waiting for the Japanese army to arrive before firing. The Japanese could not figure out how many troops the Eighth Route Army had, and retreated at dusk.
During the war, Wan Chunpu took the joint defense armed forces of the Red Gun Society and went up to another hill, and he saw everything in the Eighth Route Army. He admired Luo Ronghuan for winning more with less, using soldiers like gods, and admiring him to the ground. After the war, in order to thank the Eighth Route Army for protecting his hometown, he slaughtered pigs and sheep to offer condolences, and also set up a table of wine and dishes at home, inviting Political Commissar Luo and Acting Division Commander Chen Guang and others to celebrate their deeds at home.
While drinking, Wan Chunpu said many words of thanks and admiration, and he said to Luo Ronghuan solemnly:
"The political commissar, I organized the Red Gun Society, pulled the team, in order to defend the countryside, not to be ruined by the devils and traitors." These hundreds of robberies, who look at it are hungry. The Kuomintang wanted to send people to give them a number, and the puppet army also wanted to come and collect them, but neither of them agreed, and none of them were sincerely anti-Japanese. I see that only the Communist Eighth Route Army is sincere in fighting devils and protecting the common people. If your army is not abandoned, I am willing to organize the team into the Eighth Route Army and obey the command of the political commissar. ”
The division commanders were very happy to hear this. Luo Ronghuan said:
"Thank you President Wan for trusting us, but I don't know if the brothers below agree?"
"There is no second word, they all listen to me," Said Wan Chunpu, "the brothers in the meeting are all Zhuang Hu Han and honest people, and they all say that the eight roads are good." ”
At this time, the Base Area of the Eighth Route Army was not long established, and it was difficult to replenish the troops. If there are hundreds of people with red guns, who is not happy? The next day the division headquarters held a meeting to study this question, and some advocated dispersing and replenishing them to various combat companies, some advocating that the company be reorganized into the 686 regiment and a new battalion be formed; some advocated maintaining the original establishment, sending cadres in, forming an independent battalion, and after some training, replenishing the main force.
Everyone is talking about it, and each has its own reason.
What the hell to do?
Luo Ronghuan finally said:
"First, this unit was organized by the Red Gun Society, and the feudal relations were very heavy, and they could not be scattered; second, the soldiers were all peasants in this area, semi-detached from production, and they were soldiers in order to defend their hometown, and they could not be consolidated; third, the Northeast Army and the diehards had all beaten their ideas and wanted to eat them; the Japanese also sent lobbyists to lure them down, but they were all rejected by Wan Chunpu. Now that we are incorporated into the Eighth Route Army, we must not create the impression that we are also playing and eating people's homes. ”
Speaking of this, Luo Ronghuan put forward his own opinion: "President Wan trusts the Eighth Route Army of the Communist Party and is sincere. In order to create a base area and unite the anti-Japanese forces, it is best to use this armed force as the mainstay, we send a main company to them, and combine them into a detachment, the troops are still led by Wan Chunpu, and we send some military and political cadres to serve as deputies. ”
Luo Ronghuan's opinion is naturally the best solution for the right one.
Subsequently, in accordance with his methods, the Eighth Route Army's four-county border joint detachment was established. In the face of battle, the main company of the 115th Division was put in to take the lead, and after several victories, the other companies were also brought up. Coupled with political education and the establishment of party organizations, this unit grew stronger day by day, and later became the main force of the Lunan brigade. Under the cultivation and education of Luo Ronghuan, Wan Chunpu made rapid political progress, and in 1943 he became the deputy commander of the Lunan Military Region -- in the anti-Japanese base areas led by the Eighth Route Army, the deputy commander of the military region at the first level was a non-party person, and only Wan Chunpu was a person.
After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Wan Chunpu joined the Ccp in early 1946. In this regard, Luo Ronghuan spoke highly of this:

Wan Chunpu joined the CCP at the age of 65, and this change is extremely valuable and very firm. Later, he set strict demands on himself as a party member everywhere, and after the founding of New China, he served as a certain leader in the Jinan Municipal Government, and later served as the vice chairman of the Jinan Municipal COMMITTEE of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He died in 1972 at the age of 91. Recalling his life, Wan Chunpu once lamented:
"The biggest change in my life was in 1943. I was 62 years old that year, but I was the deputy commander of the Lunan Military Region of the Eighth Route Army, how glorious! ”
