The 2022 Qingdao International Violin Competition is jointly sponsored by the Central Conservatory of Music, the Propaganda Department of the Qingdao Municipal Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and the People's Government of Qingdao Shinan District, and co-hosted by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Shinan District Committee, the Qingdao Shinan District Culture and Tourism Bureau and Beijing Yangyin Education Technology Co., Ltd.

According to the organizers, the 2022 Qingdao International Violin Competition is an international violin music competition for the whole world, aiming to show the level of Violin art education in China, understand the dynamics of violin education in the world today, tap outstanding Chinese and foreign musical talents, and promote the development of Chinese violin art and international cultural and artistic exchanges. The competition has a special art advisory committee to ensure the fairness of the competition with mature competition rules and excellent judging committees, and to create a top competition environment and a platform for exchange and display for the contestants.

Yu Feng, chairman of the organizing committee of the competition, artistic director and president of the Central Conservatory of Music, said that the China International Violin Competition was previously one of the three major Chinese international music competitions hosted by the Ministry of Culture and hosted by the Qingdao Municipal Government. From 2005 to 2014, it was held every three years. The competition has successfully launched international careers for many young violinists.
