Dai Zhiqi, a native of Xingyi, Guizhou, graduated from the branch of the Huangpu Military Academy, and the school he attended at that time was in the Chaozhou area, belonging to the second phase of students, and graduated from the fourth phase of the Huangpu Military Academy in Guangzhou in the same year, so it can be said that he was a huangpu fourth-term student. Dai Zhiqi, like too many students, began his military career after graduation. During the Northern Expedition, he participated in the battles of Songkou, Zhenjiang, Longtan, Xuzhou and so on.
During the eight-year War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Dai Zhiqi also led his troops to perform outstandingly on the battlefields of songhu war, the battle of western Hubei, and the battle of Changde. It was also favored by Crown Prince Chiang Ching-kuo. In early 1945, Chiang Ching-kuo's "Youth Expeditionary Force" was established, with a total of nine divisions, and Dai Zhiqi was transferred to the commander of the 201st Division, stationed in Bishan, Sichuan. Soon after the victory of the War of Resistance, the three divisions of the Youth Army were reorganized into an army, and Dai Zhiqi was appointed by Chiang Kai-shek as the commander of the army.
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Chiang Kai-shek reorganized the whole army in order to fight and prepare for the civil war. Dai Zhiqi was promoted to lieutenant general of the reorganized 69th Division (equivalent to the army). As Chiang Kai-shek's beloved general, Dai Zhiqi became the first nationalist general to fight a civil war for Chiang Kai-shek and die.
In December 1946, Dai Zhiqi's 69th Division and Hu Lian's 11th Division were ordered to attack the Liberated Areas of Central China, and in the face of the enemy's menacing force, Chen and Su discussed countermeasures. In the end, it was decided to fight the weaker reorganized 69th Division first, if it could eat the entire division, it was naturally better, and it was also possible not to eat a heavy blow.
On December 14, the Ninth Column took the lead in attacking the 69th Division in the Suqian area. The confident Dai Zhiqi said happily that the brothers had the opportunity to establish their merits, and whether the 69th Division could become famous! It depends on this battle, there are rewards for winning the whole division, and if we lose, this is our grave. It can be seen from this that Dai Zhiqi is iron-hearted, ready, and unsuccessful, he becomes Ren's idea.
However, when the battle was carried out for a period, Hua Ye surrounded the 69th Division under the careful command of Chen Su and the two men, cutting off the retreat. When it was learned that the 69th Division was surrounded, two people could not imagine, one was Dai Zhiqi himself, and the other was Hu Lian. However, at this time, Dai Zhiqi did not feel a little panic, and he was convinced that Hu Lian would save him. So he immediately sent a telegram to Hu Lian asking for help.
However, when the 69th Division fought a bloody battle with Hua Ye, Dai Zhiqi looked forward to reinforcements and did not see one. Let Dai Zhiqi show a panicked expression on his face, "say" whether Hu Lian will really meet death and not save. In this emergency situation, Dai Zhiqi had no choice but to ask Chiang Kai-shek for help, and the old Chiang Kai-shek was very anxious when he learned that Ai would be surrounded. Personally called Hu Lian and said to Hu Lian solemnly, if he can't save Dai Zhiqi, he will come to see him.
In this situation, Hu Lian sent two brigades to rescue Dai Zhiqi, but was blocked by Ye Fei's first column outside the city of Su county and could not advance. When the gunshots got closer and closer to Dai Zhiqi, Dai Zhiqi knew that he was finished.
Dai Zhiqi rushed to the northeast corner of the village surrounded by remnants, and when faced with shouts of death on all sides, he did not choose to surrender, decided to be loyal to Principal Jiang, and shot himself in the head.
