Was Shang Martin, the great hero of the "Shang Martingale Transformation Law", really killed by the "five horses splitting the corpse"?

The State of Qin has developed from a soft persimmon that was casually pinched by the neighbor Wei State in the early Warring States period to no.1 that swept through the Six Kingdoms in the late Warring States period, and the Shang Martingale Transformation Law is indispensable!

Shang Martingale, whose original name was Gongsun Martingale, was originally a native of the State of Wei, and his career began with the retinue of Gong Gong of the State of Wei. Qin Xiaogong (born and died: 381-338 BC, reigned 362-338 BC) was about 20 years old when he took the throne, his self-esteem and dedication were very strong, the Qin state was relatively weak at that time, and Qin Xiaogong was bent on seeking a strong country and improving its "international" status, which showed that the world would recruit talents and promise glory and wealth. On the other hand, after the death of his uncle GongXuan, Gongsun Martingale could not be mixed in the State of Wei, and when he heard that the State of Qin was short of people, he jumped to the State of Qin to try his luck, and was reused by the thirsty Duke Xiaogong of Qin, and was later sealed in the Shang land, called Shang Martingale. During the Warring States period, aspiring people were all based on the world, and if they did not mix well in one country, they ran to other princely states to try their luck. Get your own plan for governing the country, sell it everywhere, and which big guy approves, will do it under which big guy. The reason why Shang Martin was able to come up with a "governing plan" was due to the fact that he was born in the State of Wei and grew up in the State of Wei and worked in the State of Wei. Before Shang Martin was born, the State of Wei had a famous "Li Wu Transformation Law", which made the State of Wei the most powerful princely state at that time. When Li Wu died in 395 BC, Shang Martin (395-338 BC) was born. Later, the basic content of Shang Martin's transformation method was based on Li Wu's transformation method.

In the TV series "Great Qin Empire", the plot is that Shang Martin was split and died by the car, and the description of his crime in the Guojun Shu was: "... Rebellion against the martingale, gathering crowds to plot rebellion, deceiving the king, killing the clan without permission, all these things, the evil is obvious, for the sake of the law of the country, for the venting of the people's anger..." The decree of this monarch is basically the same as the truth.

The contents of the Shang martingale's reform of the law are mainly listed in the history textbooks, such as the reform of the land system, the reform of the taxation system by emphasizing agriculture and suppressing commerce, the reform of the household registration system, the reform of the military service system, the unification of weights and measures, the reform of the right of officials to be owned by the county system from the system of dividing feudalism to the county system, and so on. These systems can be summarized as above, specifically, very specific and meticulous, in short, that is, workers, peasants, soldiers, merchants, aristocrats, and civilians all serve the Qin state in the "international" circle, and the rest must be sacrificed. Although the change of law has made the Qin state stronger and the "international status" has risen rapidly, it is everywhere results-oriented, and the people are treated as machines, which not only arouses the people's anger, but also moves the interests of the original nobles, and is envied by the original nobles! The loss and gain of benefits must be paid with blood and fire. The mood of the nobles must be that everyone will be cursed.

Finally, the nobles of the Qin state waited for a good opportunity to take revenge, that is, in 338 BC, Qin Xiaogong died, and his son King Huiwen of Qin ascended the throne, and this teacher of King Huiwen of Qin, Yingqian, was also cut off by Shang Martin. In the "Great Qin Empire", it is said that King Huiwen of Qin asked Yingqian why Shangmartin had to die, and Yingqian said: ".....in public and private, the beams will be demolished, the Martingale will change the law, the heavy punishment will be heavy rewards, the customs will be changed, the fifteen consecutive seats, the counties and counties will be redrawn, and all these things have inspired the old Qin people and torn apart the old Qin people.....But the new and old clans, every family has a blood vendetta, this must not be ignored... The new and old clans have resentments, and sooner or later the Qin kingdom will have to be in chaos.....The resentment of the new and old clans is only concentrated in one person, that is, Shang Martin, which is unfair, but it cannot be changed... By killing shangmartin, the new and old clans can turn to supporting the new law, and without killing Shang martingale, the hatred will never be extinguished.....That is to say, the Qin state cannot do without the new law, cannot do without the clan, but cannot have a shangmartin that has completed the mission of changing the law.....As long as the martingale is there, you will never have your own place", said King Huiwen of Qin; The torn new and old clans still have to be glued with the blood of the Shang Jun..." Therefore, King Huiwen of Qin ordered that Shang Martin be wanted and Shang Martin flee, and in view of the fact that he had pit too many people, and in view of the system of his own criminal punishment and continuous sitting, wherever he fled, no one abroad took him in, and no one in China dared to take him in. Finally, in 338 BC, the duke of Qin Xiaogong died in the same year, Shang Martin in his fief Shang, was killed. After death, the body is divided by five horses, rather than being separated by five horses alive.

In the line in the "Great Qin Empire", Shang Martin said to Ganlong: "Although Wei Martingale is still alive and dead, Er and others are still alive and dead..." Indeed, although Shang Martin died, his various policies for changing the law were completely implemented by King Huiwen of Qin, and a Shang martingale died, ensuring the continued implementation of the change of law, and also continuing to contribute to the unification of the six kingdoms of Qin.

Although Shang Martin himself was mean and vicious by nature, his changes in laws and systems affected China for more than two thousand years, and no one in the feudal dynasty was unsurpassed for more than two thousand years. If Qin Xiaogong lived a few more years, maybe Shang Martin would be able to get a good ending.

History always makes people sigh!
