On March 17, 1946, Dai Kasa, director of the Military Command Bureau of the National Government, flew from Qingdao to Nanjing by special plane, and due to the harsh climate and low visibility, the plane hit Daishan in the suburbs of Nanjing, causing the plane to be destroyed and killed, and all 17 people on board were killed. After Du Yuesheng received the news of Dai Kasa's death, he first stayed like a wooden chicken, then cried loudly, then coughed sharply, and suffered a serious illness.
So what is the origin between Du Yuesheng, the godfather of the gang, and Dai Kasa, the king of secret agents, and why did he almost collapse after receiving the news of his death?
One
When Dai Kasa was young, he wandered into the casino and learned the unique skill of rolling dice with one hand, and he could get any points he wanted. Once in the casino guarded by Du Yuesheng, Dai Kasa won for several days in a row and made a lot of money, and Du Yuesheng's subordinate Jiang Zhaoming saw that this person was greedy and insufficient, and deliberately accused Dai Kasa of leaving the old man to abolish his hands and feet. Dai Kasa had a clever move, saying that he was Du Yuesheng's best friend and asked to see Du Xie. A half-convinced Jiang Zhaoming called Du Yuesheng for verification, and out of curiosity, Du Yuesheng received him.
After the meeting, Du Yuesheng asked him who he was, and Dai Kasa avoided answering, but instead pointed to a couplet hanging in the middle of the living room and asked Du Yuesheng if he knew his intentions. This couplet is written by Rao Hanxiang, secretary general of Li Yuanhong, who was the president of the Republic of China, "Three thousand guests under the Chunshen Gate, five feet south of Du Cheng", which compares Du Yuesheng to Chun Shenjun, who was good at attracting talents during the Warring States period, and Du Qu, who lived in the southern suburbs of Chang'an in the Tang Dynasty and was known for his bells ringing and eating. Dai Kasa thought he had some talent and wanted to beg for food under Du Yuesheng's door.
After Du Yuesheng understood the ins and outs of the matter, he apologized to Dai Kasa, believing that he was indeed a talent, and should not be young in the casino, but should do a vigorous career. The two married brothers with different surnames, Du Yuesheng prepared a ferry ticket to Guangzhou and some entanglements for Dai Kasa, and then wrote a letter of introduction to the eldest brother Jin Rong, introducing Dai Kaishen to Chang Kaishen, who was then the principal of the Whampoa Military Academy, thus enrolling in the sixth phase of the Whampoa Military Academy and becoming one of Chang Kaishen's most trusted confidants.

After the Nationalist government swore an oath to the Northern Expedition, Dai Kasa brokered a bridge between Du Yuesheng and the Nationalist government, Chang Kaishen needed the economic support of the Shanghai chaebols, and Du Yuesheng controlled the largest gang group in Shanghai, which was related to the overall situation of social stability. Du Yuesheng became a loyal believer in the Nationalist government, directing his men to kill trade union leaders, suppress the workers' movement, and become the vanguard of the counterrevolutionary movement of the Nationalist government.
After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japan, Du Yuesheng fled to Hong Kong and served as a "standing committee member of the Economic Committee", in charge of the relief work of the Ninth District, spending funds allocated by the central government to help and rescue cultural celebrities and business elites in the occupied areas. Dai Kasa organized the military commanders and Du Yuesheng's disciples and grandsons to form the "Jiangsu-Zhejiang Special Action Team" to be responsible for receiving and covering the withdrawal of the Nationalist army from Shanghai.
Most of the hoeing and rape operations organized and carried out by Dai Kasa in Shanghai were mostly involved, or arranged for personnel to respond or listen to various news, and his proud protégé Chen Mo also served as the head of the action group, assassinating You Jusun, then head of the Shanghai Citizens' Association, Gu Xinyi, chairman of the Citizens' Association, Yang Fuyuan, a member of the committee, and Ren Bao, secretary general of the Shanghai Municipal Bureau's Office.

After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Du Yuesheng returned to Shanghai and sought the post of mayor of Shanghai. Unexpectedly, his apprentice, Wu Shaoshu, who was then the vice mayor of Shanghai, betrayed shimen and used his power to suppress Du Yuesheng everywhere. When Dai Kasa saw the situation, he was furious and secretly sent someone to investigate, and learned that Wu Shaoshu had a bad deed of enriching himself in receiving enemy property, so he listed the evidence and submitted it to the highest authorities. Wu Shaoshu was dismissed from his posts as vice mayor of Shanghai, and Dai took revenge on Du Yuesheng's behalf.
Just as Du Yuesheng was preparing to show his fists after the victory of the War of Resistance, he suddenly received the bad news of Dai Kasa's death, how could he not feel broken. For a long time, Dai Kasa spoke for him in front of Chang Kaishen, and was personally received by the chairman of the committee and encouraged by gentle words, which made Du Yuesheng, who had always wanted to make achievements in the political circles, grateful. He and Dai Kasa have cooperated many times, and have forged a deep friendship and trust, and now the loss of this staunchest supporter means that Du Yuesheng has declared the end of his political career.
Sure enough, then Du Yuesheng was recognized by the National Government as the representative of the shanghai beach evil forces, not only the mayor was not elected, but also aroused the unanimous condemnation of the people, Du Yuesheng issued a famous "night pot theory", saying that old Jiang used him, beckoned when he used it, and left him in the corner when he was not in use, as if it were a night pot. In April 1949, the Nationalist government asked Du Yuesheng to go to Taiwan, but he did not want to fight for Chang Kaishen anymore and turned around and went to Hong Kong. On August 16, 1951, Du Yuesheng died of illness in Hong Kong at the age of 63.
