For the situation of alleviating the lack of cores, Liang Haiqiang, director of the development department of the BAIC Research Institute, said, "In the situation of chip shortage, on the one hand, we will consider compatibility in the control design, and for some core key devices that cannot be replaced, we will focus on one or two mainstream chip companies to establish in-depth cooperation." At the same time, devices with relatively low functional safety requirements have been replaced by domestic chips, and devices with relatively high functional safety requirements have also carried out the verification of corresponding domestic chips. ”

Behind the mass production of intelligent cars in China, there is an urgent need for industrial support for smart car rules chips. According to the data of China's automotive chip industry innovation strategic alliance, the scale of China's independent automotive chip industry accounted for only 4.5% of the world in 2019, while the import rate of domestic automotive chips exceeded 90%. "Lack of core tide" for the strength of Chinese chip companies to create a golden window of development, many companies are comprehensively considering the supply chain elasticity and domestic manufacturers in the service decision-making speed, service flexibility and local customization and other aspects of the advantages, with a more open mind to actively choose the national independent innovation of chip products.

Unlike consumer-grade chips that focus on performance and computing power, and rapid iteration, automotive chips have a long life cycle, and the research and development cycle of car specification chips is often two or three years, and then the introduction of the car body takes more than a year, so how the chip can maintain a leading position in the upper model, and still maintain the leading level in the next 5 to 10 years, which depends on the forward-looking at the time of the initial chip definition.

"The architecture of the future advanced transformer is one of the important development directions of the car, which is why we insist on making the core processor larger, which can realize that a chip can support almost all the functions of the vehicle, such as including an encryption chip in the cockpit chip, and no additional configuration is required." Qiu Yujing, CEO of Xinchi Technology, said that this is equivalent to reducing the number of auto parts in disguise, and will solve the problem of future car chip supply from another angle.

"We don't do low-end domestic substitution." Qiu Yujing said that now China's intelligent driving car companies are actually very leading, and they urgently need China's local chip support. "But it's actually hard to differentiate products using off-the-shelf chips." A good product leads, in fact, depends on the initial definition. "In particular, being able to participate in the definition of the underlying layer of the chip at an early stage is decisive for future products."

As a star dark horse in the field of domestic car specification chips, Xinchi Technology has successfully developed and mass-produced a variety of vehicle specification-level chips, covering multi-domain scenarios such as intelligent cockpit, central gateway, and automatic driving. Qiu Yujing said that at present, Xinchi Technology has completely passed all the car specification chip certification and entered the mass production stage, of which three series of chips can fill the gap of domestic domestic car regulation chips, and the annual order has reached one million pieces.
