On April 12, 2022, the domestic automotive chip company Xinchi Technology released the vehicle-grade MCU E3 "Control Core" series of products.

The products are divided into five series: E3600/3400/3200 series, E3300 series and E3100 series. CPUs are available in single-, dual-, quad- and six-core frequencies from 300MHz to 800MHz, and support both BGA and LQFP packages.

It is understood that the full range of MCU of Chip Chi Technology E3 adopts TSMC's 22nm vehicle specification process, which can be applied to many automotive applications such as wire control chassis, brake control, BMS (battery system), ADAS assisted driving/automatic driving motion control, LIQUID crystal instrument, HUD (head-up display), streaming media vision system CMS and so on.

From the outset of its design, the E3 MCU set high stability and safety goals, with vehicle specification reliability standards at AEC-Q100 Grade 1 and functional safety standards at ISO 26262 ASIL D.

Sun Mingle, chief architect of Xinchi Technology, said that when the product was not officially launched, nearly 20 customers designed products in advance based on E3. At present, the full range of E3 products has been open to customers for sample and development board applications, and it is expected to achieve mass production in the third quarter of this year.

In addition to providing chip products, Chip Chi Technology has also created a complete ecosystem. In the autosar basic software, XCHI has completed the adaptation with Vector, EB, Puhua, ETAS, Neusoft Ruichi, Hengrun and other mainstream AUTOSAR manufacturers at home and abroad to help the products quickly bring to the market.

According to IHS data from market research institute, the global automotive MCU market size will be about $6.4 billion in 2020, and the global automotive MCU market is expected to be $8 billion by 2023. The vehicle regulation MCU products released by Xinchi Technology are also expected to alleviate the problem of "lack of cores" in automobiles to a certain extent.

Founded in 2018, Xinchi Technology is a local automotive chip company. Headquartered in Nanjing, it also has R&D centers in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen. At present, there are more than 250 customers of Xinchi Technology's vehicle specification chip service.

Previously, Chip Technology has released three system-level chips for smart cockpit, automatic driving and central gateway, X9, G9 and V9.

In the field of autopilot chips, ChipCom said that it will launch a single-chip autopilot processor with a single computing power of 200TOPS in the second half of the year. Its intelligent cockpit chip X9 has also obtained dozens of fixed-point models, covering local, joint venture factories, and car-making new power car companies.

With the release of the vehicle-grade MCU E3, Singchi Technology has completed the coverage of four major application areas of intelligent cockpit, automatic driving, central gateway and high-performance MCU.

As the electrical and electronic architecture shifts from distributed to domain control and central computing, XCHI is also embarking on the upcoming central computing platform. Based on the above four chip combinations, Chip Strategy, says it is planning a complete automotive central computing architecture, SCCA 1.0.
