On January 12, the first "ChipTalk" automotive chip media exchange meeting was held at the Park Hyatt Beijing Hotel, which was hosted by the domestic chip company Chip Technology and participated by more than 70 media in various fields.

In the form of speeches and dialogues, the executives of Xinchi Technology not only systematically explained the relevant technologies and products, but also conducted in-depth exchanges and thoughts with the media guests who attended the scene on topics such as "lack of cores", "vehicle regulation certification", "domestic chip development", "intelligent driving" and so on.

As a leading chip company in China, Xinchi Technology, which has always been known for its low profile, has let the outside world understand more about the high-profile and "mysterious and profound" industry of automotive chips through the first issue of "Xinchi Talk", in the form of knowledge sharing and dialogue.

First, China's car regulation chip enterprises accumulate and develop in 3 years to complete the mass production of goods

According to the data, by 2025, the global semiconductor market will exceed 400 billion, while China's automotive semiconductor market will reach 120 billion, doubling compared with now. The high-performance vehicle specification processor is the core driving force for the development of automotive electronics, and under this general trend, the lack of core also provides valuable window opportunities for Chinese manufacturers.

At this media exchange meeting, Chen Shujie, chief brand officer of XinChi Technology, introduced that the automotive electronic and electrical architecture is changing from the traditional ECU to the current "domain controller" architecture, and will evolve to "central computing + regional control" in the future.

In less than 3 years, the full range of "intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving, safety control, intelligent gateway" domain control computing power platform has completed the highest level certification and mass production of tape-outs, vehicle regulations, covering more than 70% of China's car factories, serving more than 250 customers, and obtaining more than 50 fixed points.

The "core chi speed" of China's chips not only stems from the deep accumulation of 10-20 years of mass production experience, but also because of the unique "core chi customer success model", which fully reflects the local advantages of "agile design response, open R&D platform, opening up upstream and downstream ecology and comprehensive customer support".

Second, the surge in demand for vehicle specification chips Safety and reliability are the first priority

According to market research agency IHS Markit, in the top ten automotive technologies in the world in 2021, in addition to 3D printing manufacturing, the other nine are directly related to chips.

Xu Chao, vice president of Xinchi Technology, said that the traditional automobile development process does not require the participation of chip companies, most of them use the standard components provided by Tier1, and the electronic system differentiation of mainstream models is small, and now auto companies have strengthened in-depth exchanges with chip companies, chip companies have entered the market more than 16 months in advance, and the demand for differentiation has increased.

China is the world's automotive power, but Chinese automotive chips rarely enter the international mainstream market. Among them, the world's top 7 MCU suppliers occupy more than 90% of the market, while Chinese manufacturers have less than 3%.

Unlike consumer electronics, the barriers to automotive chips are very high. And the automotive electronic certification process is complex and requires greater investment. For example, the vehicle-grade chip should meet the functional safety standard ISO26262, the reliability standard AEC-Q series and other certifications, and the quality management system certification IATF16949.

As early as 2018, Xinchi Technology deeply laid out automotive chips. At present, ChipCom is the only four-in-one automotive chip enterprise in China, which has obtained AEC-Q100 reliability certification, ISO26262 ASIL D functional safety process certification, ISO26262 ASIL B functional safety product certification and national secret information security product certification.

The all-scenario products of Xinchi Technology cover four major areas: intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving, safety control and intelligent gateway. At the event site, Chip Technology exhibited its latest "One Core Ten Screens" Demo, which realized that through X9U one chip, it supports up to 10 independent full HD displays, including front-row instruments, central control screens, HUDs and multiple entertainment screens, which can achieve multi-screen sharing and interaction.

In terms of automatic driving, Dr. Tao Sheng, head of autonomous driving at Xinchi Technology, said that L2+ is the era that is happening, and L3-L5 is the era of the future. Recently, Mercedes-Benz got the L3 certificate in Germany, and in 2023, the L3 may enter the mass production time, which is very much in line with the rhythm of the core chi.

"ChipStras is a chip supplier, and we will work with Tier1 partners from the beginning of the design to provide the best performance of our chips and open up a wide range of interfaces to them." We will also provide a complete toolchain to our customers, giving them a way to implement the algorithm. Dr. Tao Sheng, head of autonomous driving at Xinchi Technology, said.

In addition, Dr. Tao also showed the live video of L4 automatic parking at the venue and said that the solution has a higher cost performance than similar friends.
