"Journey to the West" is one of the four famous works in China, and the four Tang monks and apprentices of the Western Heavens are also familiar stories for many people, among them, Sun Wukong is the most popular character in it, the spell is strong and jealous, and he is the embodiment of justice.
However, Journey to the West is a mythical story after all, although there is indeed Tang Xuanzang's Western Heavenly Scripture in history, but there are no such three disciples. If someone says that they are the descendants of Sun Wukong, will they think it is a very funny thing?

The woman claimed to be a descendant of Sun Wukong and was determined to test her DNA
In other words, this so-called "descendant of Sun Wukong" is not a man, but a woman, her name is Princess Sun, and this surname is correct.
In 2014, a woman named Concubine Sun, claiming to be a descendant of Sun Wukong, this shocking remark caused an uproar on the Internet, some people are very interested, but more people treat this matter as a joke, purely hilarious.
You know, "Journey to the West" and "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" are different, although "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" has a part of the fictional plot because of the needs of the novel, but the basic historical framework is real, most of the characters in it are real, but "Journey to the West" is a proper mythological novel, completely surreal.
However, Princess Sun had a relic as evidence— the ancestral spirit stone and a pinch of monkey hair, which seemed to be very sure. She came to Fudan University and asked a professor to do an appraisal for her. The professor was also a good temper, and although he knew it was ridiculous, he tested her as required.
After examination, this so-called "ancestral spirit stone" is just an ordinary ancient rock, and the monkey hair is something similar to pig hair, and these two "treasures" are unconvincing.
As for the identification of DNA for concubines and monkey hairs, it is too absurd, after all, it crosses races, it can be said that it is challenging reproductive isolation, it is really "concubines can't do it", the professor rejected this test.
Princess Sun's series of actions were considered hype, but she said she would continue to confirm that she was a descendant of Sun Wukong. In other words, it takes a lot of courage for a girl to claim to be the offspring of a monkey, even though the monkey is Sun Wukong.
Princess Sun was angry for a while, but then disappeared, which should be the strongest "touching porcelain" in the history of Sun Wukong. However, this incident has once again aroused everyone's discussion of the source of Sun Wukong.
Monkey King prototype
Many of the characters in the story have certain archetypes, and there are many theories about the archetypes of Sun Wukong.
The first to list the origin of Sun Wukong as an academic problem was Lu Xun. "Journey to the West" has been circulated for hundreds of years, and the world knows that this monkey is magical, but no one cares where it comes from, after all, it is a mythological figure, and it seems that it is of little significance to trace the roots.
It was not until after the publication of Lu Xun's "Outline of the History of the Chinese Novel" that the question of the origin of Sun Wukong began to be concerned, and many theories appeared.
The new wild monkey jokes:
During the Ming and Qing dynasties, monkey drama was popular in Xinye, and Wu Cheng'en also heard about monkeys during this period of office, and had a more intuitive understanding of monkeys, perhaps because of this, Wu Cheng'en intentionally shaped the monkey into a character image to add to the story, and also described vividly.
Shunchang Qi Tian Dasheng said:
Sun Wukong is nicknamed "Qi Tian Dasheng", in the main peak of Baoshan in Shunchang, there is a Qi Tian Da Sheng Temple, which enshrines two great saints - Baofeng Qi Tian Da Sheng and Tong Tian Da Sheng, which are their joint burial tombs, this temple was probably built in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties, and it is also the earliest Qi Tian Da Sheng Temple found so far.
Wu Cheng'en wrote "Journey to the West" 200 years later than this temple, and it is very likely that he borrowed the Qitian Dasheng culture here when sketching Sun Wukong.
Shi Wukong said:
There is also a theory that Sun Wukong is derived from "Shi Wukong", a high monk of the Tang Dynasty, decades later than Xuanzang.
His real name was Che Fengchao, he was originally an envoy of the Tang Dynasty, who went to the Western Regions and later converted to Buddhism. Shakyamuni also pursued advanced Dharma, so he retraced India along xuanzang's path for 30 years.
The names are more similar, and they have also walked the West Heavenly Road, and they are also following Xuanzang's steps, which is also the basis for supporting Shi Wukong's theory.
Wuzhiqi & Hanuman:
Regarding the source of Sun Wukong, Lu Xun and Hu Shi also "quarreled". Lu Xun believes that Sun Wukong originated from Wuzhi Qi, a water monster in Chinese mythology, looking like an ape, with fire eyes and golden eyes, and has many similarities with the image of Sun Wukong.
In the miscellaneous drama "Tang Sanzang Western Heavenly Scriptures", there are words that "Wuzhiqi is his sister", which also supports this statement more. Wuzhi Qi was once locked at the foot of Guishan Mountain by Dayu, which is quite similar to Sun Wukong being crushed under the Five Elements Mountain.
Hu Shi believes that Sun Wukong is an "imported monkey" derived from the Indian god monkey Hanuman. However, this statement has been strongly opposed by the academic community.
Shi Panda said:
Some professors also proposed that the prototype of Sun Wukong was Shi Pantuo, a Hu disciple received by Xuanzang on his way west, who played a role in guiding Xuanzang and solving the crisis, and in addition, according to the depiction on the Gansu murals, Shi Pantuo's appearance of a sharp-billed monkey cheek is also more in line with the image of Sun Wukong.
Sun Wukong and the above conjectures have similarities, or names, or appearances, or experiences, or abilities, so Sun Wukong may also be Wu Cheng'en borrowed from a number of legends and characters to form an image, after all, the collision between cultures is very wonderful. But in short, Monkey King is not a real person.
In fact, Sun Wukong is not only controversial in its source, but its hometown has also been fought over by many parties.
Sun Wukong's hometown
In "Journey to the West", Sun Wukong claimed to be from dongying shenzhou proud to come to the national flower and fruit landscape curtain cave, after research, dongying shenzhou is now Jiangsu Lianyungang, Lianyungang does have a flower and fruit mountain, "Journey to the West" should be based on this place. Huaguo Mountain is also famous at home and abroad.
Later, archaeologists found the joint tomb of the "Sun Wukong Brothers" in Fujian, that is, the above-mentioned Shunchang Qitian Dasheng, and Sun Wukong was changed to His ancestral home in Fujian.
Regarding sun wukong's "ancestral homeland", there are not only the above two statements, but also India, Shanxi, and Gansu. This is probably "people are afraid of being famous pigs are afraid of being strong", including the former homes of many celebrities are also being fought over everywhere. If this continues, I am afraid that "everyone will have a mountain of flowers and fruits".
To some extent, this kind of scramble is similar to the behavior of Concubine Sun, Sun Wukong is just a virtual character, and he has not really lived in any place, and the book only gives him a place of birth according to needs, which may not be consistent with reality.
To be precise, Sun Wukong belongs to the entire Chinese culture and should not be appropriated by a certain place, such a scramble is meaningless, but only to increase local popularity.
Although Sun Wukong is a hero, it is estimated that he will not leave offspring, after all, he is a fictional character, not to mention that he has entered the Buddha's Gate, if it is said that the descendants of Shi Panda or Shi Wukong may have a certain historical basis.
Whatever her purpose, Princess Sun ended up being an insignificant joke.
