The little radish head, whose real name is Song Zhenzhong, is the son of revolutionary martyrs Song Qiyun and Xu Linxia, born in Pizhou, Jiangsu Province in 1941. In September 1941, with his parents arrested, the little doll who was only eight months old at that time, in prison, without conditions, led to malnutrition, very small in size, with a large head and a small body, and the comrades in prison affectionately called him "little turnip head".
The little radish head was very young, the prison guards were not very strict with him, and the sensible little radish head undertook the heavy responsibility of passing on messages to each other and became a "little intelligence officer" among the prison comrades at that time.
In 1949, the general trend of the nationalist army had gone, and it began to mutilate revolutionary comrades, and Xiao Radish Head and his parents were not spared.
Two people killed the little turnip head. One named Yang Jinxing, who was the director of the detention center at the time, absconded to Sichuan after liberation, was later arrested by villagers and shot in 1958.
There was also a man named Yang Qindian, who was the head of the detention center at that time. After liberation, he returned to his hometown to work as a farmer until his death in November 2007.

Born in 1918 in Haocheng, Henan, Yang Qindian was admitted to the Xi'an Army Teaching Corps sponsored by Hu Zongnan in 1940.
Yang Qindian graduated from the military academy, was assigned to huzong's southern cavalry unit, became a horseman, and was later valued by Chiang Kai-shek, transferred to his guard regiment, and became a guard of Chiang Kai-shek. Not long after, Yang Qindian was transferred to the White Mansion Detention Center as a squad leader, responsible for guarding the revolutionary comrades imprisoned in the White Mansion.
At that time, The little radish head and his parents were imprisoned in this white mansion. When he first arrived at the White Mansion, Yang Qindian also treated these revolutionary volunteers with cruel means in accordance with the above requirements, without the slightest pity. As the contact time grew, Yang Qindian began to find that these revolutionary comrades were all good people. Yang Qindian's view of these comrades has changed, and he helps them when he is on duty and tries to make them feel better
When these revolutionary comrades saw the changes in Yang Qindian. When I was chatting, I knew that Yang Qindian was born, had been a farmer for generations, and had not done anything bad. Feeling that Yang Qindian was likely to be reformed and could be fought for, through their efforts, Yang Qindian's thinking began to change, helping revolutionary comrades in prison to exchange information and pass on letters.
By April 1949, the Kuomintang had run out of gas. Chiang Kai-shek was so angry and demoralized that he ordered a massacre of the arrested revolutionary volunteers, when Yang Jinxing's task was to kill Xiao Radish and other revolutionary martyrs, Yang Qindian stuck the neck of Xiao Radish Head at that time and could not bear to go to his hand, seeing Yang Qindian like this, Yang Jinxing fiercely took a dagger and stabbed it, ending the life of Xiao Radish Head at the age of eight.
By November 1949, Chiang Kai-shek again carried out the final killing of comrades imprisoned in prison. On the night of the massacre, Yang Qindian was on duty, and only Yang Qindian and Li Yusheng were guarding the White Mansion, where 19 revolutionary comrades were about to be brutally killed. Yang Qindian was very conflicted in his heart, his hands were already stained with the blood of the small radish head, and once the People's Liberation Army came, he would definitely die. So he thought of releasing the revolutionary comrades in the White Mansion, hoping to redeem his merits, and hesitated. The comrades in the prison saw his thoughts, so they quickly persuaded him to fight for a way to survive. Yang Qindian expressed his concerns at that time, saying that the People's Liberation Army could spare him? The revolutionary comrades explained to him that as long as the merits outweighed the excesses, they would absolutely be lenient, and Yang Qindian saved the lives of 19 revolutionary comrades at a crucial moment. Chongqing was liberated on November 30, 1949. The next day, Yang Qindian went to the Chongqing Municipal Public Security Bureau to turn himself in. At that time, revolutionary comrades and others testified on his behalf, saving the lives of 19 revolutionary comrades at a critical moment, and requesting leniency.
After careful consideration, he did not blame him for the past, and arranged a job for him, but he deeply blamed himself for killing the little radish head, did not accept the party's arrangement, returned to his hometown, and died in 2007
