Lü Mengzheng,Zi Shenggong,a native of Luoyang, Henan, who served as prime minister three times during the song taizong and zhenzong dynasties, was named the duke of Xu guo, and was awarded the title of prince taishi, which can be said to be extremely rich and powerful, but Lü Mengzheng was very poor and depressed when he was a teenager.
Lü Mengzheng was originally a family of official eunuchs, and his father Lü Guitu served as a Later Zhou Qijulang, but his father listened to the rumors of his little wife and drove Lü Mengzheng and his mother out of the palace. Mother and son, with no relatives to throw, fell to the north bank of the Yi River and settled in a broken cave.
One year Chinese New Year's Eve, Lu Mengzheng's home was empty, and he asked his neighbors, relatives and friends for loans, but people refused to help him. Listening to the sound of firecrackers coming from outside the window, Lu Mengzheng was sad and wrote a strange couplet: two three four five; six seven eight nine. Horizontal batch: North and South.
As soon as the couplet was posted, poor friends came to watch one by one, first inexplicably, until they understood it, and couldn't help but clap their hands and praise. It turns out that the meaning of this link is: lack of clothing (one), less food (ten), no "things".
Lü Mengzheng conceived this couplet wonderfully, wrote out his desolate life, fully expressed the dissatisfaction and irony shown by society, and a short couplet told the world to be cold.
Although Lü Mengzheng was in a difficult situation, others were not poor. During the day, he went up the mountain to collect firewood to sell, and at night, he studied hard under the lamp. After ten years, without interruption, sure enough, the study was completed, taiping xingguo entered Beijing in the second year to take the exam, and the high school Ding Ugly Branch won.
After Lü Mengzheng won the title, he was first appointed as a supervisor and then served as a general judge of Shengzhou. Those rich relatives and neighbors, seeing that Lü Meng was developed, came to He Xi Bajie with their rich gifts.
Lü Mengzheng had mixed feelings, so he said, "Fellow villagers, please sit down in the hall first, and then take a look at my study." After drinking and eating, they came to Lu Mengzheng's study one after another.

In the old years, there was famine, chai rice had no one to rely on, walked out of the cross street, credit could not be borrowed, many internal and foreign relatives stood by and watched, no one sent charcoal in the snow; this branch was lucky, eating and wearing had hope, seized the five classics of the crown, surname also Yang, name also Yang, no matter Zhang Sanli four came to the door to celebrate, as much as the icing on the cake.

After Lü Mengzheng became an official, he welcomed his father into the house, let his parents live together, and served very thoughtfully, not because he was expelled from the house that year.
Lü Mengzheng is a clean and honest official, daring to speak out to the superiors, and being tolerant and elegant to the subordinates, and knowing people and doing good deeds.
When Lü Mengzheng was just appointed deputy prime minister, he was thrown cold water by others on the first day of office. As he walked up the main hall, he suddenly heard someone say, "Is this boy also a suffragan?" Lu Meng was pretending not to hear, and turned away.
Lü Mengzheng's subordinates wanted to track down who this person was, but Lü Mengzheng would not let him investigate. After the fall, the subordinate regretted that he had not caught the man at that time. Lü Mengzheng said: "If you know his name, you will not be able to forget it for the rest of your life, it is better not to know." ”
Lü Mengzheng also recommended to the imperial court Wen Zhongshu, an old classmate who often spoke ill of him. Song Taizong Zhao Kuangyi once said: "Lü Mengzheng's qi strength, I might as well." ("History of Song": Mengzheng Qi, I am not as good.) ）
Lü Mengzheng was sixty-eight years old, and after his death, he was posthumously awarded the title of Zhongshu Ling (中書令) and his courtesy name was Wen Mu (文穆).
