Original title: [Supervision] Volkswagen and BMW recalled nearly 40,000 cars
The State Administration of Market Supervision released a new phase of automobile recall information, involving brands such as Volkswagen and BMW, involving problems such as the sealing of the fuel injector in extreme cases may be destroyed, and the welding quality at the pins of the internal contact system of the power battery is poor, as detailed
Volkswagen (China) Sales Co., Ltd. and FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. recalled some imported vehicles
1. Effective February 28, 2022, Volkswagen (China) Sales Co., Ltd. will recall some of the 2015-2019 imported Beetle, Suncool, Golf, Sharon, Tourwei and Weilan series vehicles manufactured between June 1, 2015 and July 16, 2019, totaling 30,639 vehicles.
2. From February 28, 2022, FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. will recall some imported Audi A1 series vehicles of the 2015-2018 model from June 18, 2015 to January 27, 2018, totaling 6,455 units.

Reason for the recall
Vehicles within the scope of the recall (1) and (2) are equipped with 1.2TSI and 1.4TSI engines produced within a specific period of time, and due to manufacturing deviations in the production process, the oil rail bolts may have insufficient tightening torque, resulting in bolt loosening during the use of the vehicle. In extreme cases, the seal of the injector nozzle may be broken, causing fuel leakage, and the risk of fire cannot be ruled out, and there is a safety hazard.
Vehicles within the scope of this recall (3) Due to the software cooperation problem of the engine and the transmission control unit, when the vehicle is changed from the first gear to the second gear at a lower speed, if the driver suddenly changes the driving intention to release the accelerator pedal at this time, the "engine stall protection mechanism" will be triggered during the shifting process, resulting in an increase in engine output torque, a slight increase in engine speed, and a sudden increase of 3-5km/h in 1-2 seconds, increasing the possibility of accidents and potential safety hazards.
Workaround
For vehicles within the scope of the recall (1) and (2), Volkswagen (China) Sales Co., Ltd. and FAW-Volkswagen Automobile Co., Ltd. will entrust authorized dealers to replace the engine oil rail bolts for the vehicles within the scope of the recall free of charge and tighten the bolts according to the new tightening method to eliminate safety hazards.
For vehicles within the scope of the recall (3), FAW-Volkswagen Will entrust an authorized Audi dealer to upgrade the engine control unit and transmission control unit software free of charge for the vehicles within the scope of the recall to eliminate safety hazards.
Emergency response measures
For vehicles within the scope of the recall (1) and (2), if the user notices an abnormal fuel odor during the use of the vehicle, he or she should contact the authorized dealer for inspection as soon as possible.
This recall is an expanded recall of the "FAW-Volkswagen Co., Ltd. Recalls Some Imported and Domestically Produced Audi Vehicles" recall event announced on October 19, 2021. The reason for the expansion of the recall is that through further product investigation, it was found that the vehicles covered by this recall have the same safety hazards.
