On the morning of December 26th, the Pingtan International Racing Carnival event launch conference was held in Beijing Phoenix Center.
At the press conference, Huang Jianbo, deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee and director of the Management Committee of Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone, He Jiandong, full-time vice chairman of the China Automobile and Motorcycle Sports Federation, Kang Guoming, chairman of CYTS, Ye Shengji, chief engineer of China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, and Li Yongzhong, member of the party committee and deputy general manager of Fujian Investment Group, delivered speeches at the press conference.
At about 11:00 a.m., as the leading guests pressed the start button, the Pingtan International Racing Carnival was officially released.
At the meeting, the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Zone also signed a strategic framework agreement with the China Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, and the two sides will jointly build the Pingtan International Racing Island and the Pingtan International Racing Carnival Event IP Project.
Pingtan will make use of the existing transportation infrastructure to transform and build a number of motorsport tracks and facilities, introduce the national events COC China Auto Track Off-Road Championship, China GT China Super Sports Car Championship, FIA F4 China Championship, etc.; at the same time, with cross-strait exchanges, low-carbon environmental protection as the characteristics, to create some Pingtan independent event brands, such as the Straits International Karting Invitational, Linear Acceleration, Straits Electric Cross-border Rally, New Year's Year's Ring Lake Endurance Race, New Energy Roundabout Race, etc. Gradually launch the Pingtan International Racing Carnival brand.
The press conference also introduced the Pingtan "International Automobile Culture, Sports and Science and Technology Innovation Industrial Park" project. The project was jointly initiated by the experimental zone and Fujian Investment Group, with a total investment of more than 10 billion yuan, and hired a design team that had designed an international first-class racing track to create an innovative industrial business model of secondary and tertiary production in parallel. In the future, it will gather rich formats such as new energy vehicle testing and competition, theme hotels, caravan camps, racing clubs, bonded warehousing and display transactions for automobile racing, spare parts modification, etc., bringing together professional drivers, racing enthusiasts, event operators, new energy technology enterprises and business partners from all over the world.
Pingtan is located in the east of Fujian, is the first island in Fujian, the fifth largest island in the country, and the closest place to the mainland of the motherland to the main island of Taiwan. In August 2016, the State Council officially approved the "Pingtan International Tourism Island Construction Plan". At present, Pingtan International Tourism Island is taking "international style and youth fashion" as the main line, vigorously developing the cultural tourism economy, focusing on cultivating the three core competitiveness of culture, tourism and sports, and creating a happy island of music and art, an island of vitality of brand events, and a comfortable island of tourism experience.
"We will take advantage of Pingtan's natural endowments to create a very challenging track, hold a series of national and international events, and support film festivals, animation exhibitions, music festivals and other activities to create a paradise for racing enthusiasts and a sea of coastal cultural and sports tourism." The Pingtan International Racing Carnival departs from Beijing and is also looking forward to meeting in Pingtan, the last stop from the mainland section of the Beijing-Taiwan Expressway, in 2022.
