With Tesla striking a $422 million deal with Hyundai Glovis, one of South Korea's largest logistics companies, Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory will continue to be the company's main export center in 2022.
With the company's two new plants, giga berlin in Germany and giga texas, initially producing a limited number of cars, Tesla's factory in Shanghai will continue to support the company in selling cars around the world.
In the short term, Tesla's Shanghai factory will remain the company's main export center, as confirmed by Tesla's latest agreement with the freight company. Tesla signed a one-year contract with South Korean logistics company Hyundai Glovis to deliver cars produced at its Shanghai plant in China to other countries.
Notably, this is the largest order the logistics company has received from a single automaker in the 13 years since it entered the industry.
At present, the Shanghai factory is paying attention to the production of Tesla's most popular Model 3 and Model Y models, not only to transport them to neighboring countries, but also to Europe.
For now, Tesla's factories in China continue to expand as global demand for Tesla vehicles remains strong, with delivery times for some models sometimes extended to months.
Because Tesla's Berlin factory and Texas factory are not yet operational (even if they were in operation, mass production could not be achieved immediately). So it is foreseeable that by 2022, the Shanghai factory will once again become the main pillar of Tesla's global operations, playing an irreplaceable role in the overall delivery.
