A man suspected of helping with information cybercrime was chased and caught passing through Luoping

A man suspected of helping information network crimes was chased by the Shandong police online, and recently, when the man passed through Luoping County, he was arrested by the police.

On December 21, the police on duty at the police station of the Luoping County Public Security Bureau carried out a public investigation at the Jinji police station of the Shankun Expressway, and at 21:52, the police on duty inspected a gray Trumpchi off-road vehicle driving from Shilin to Guangdong in accordance with the law. Upon questioning, the driver' name was Chen Mou, 26 years old, who lived in Taiping Town, Zhao'an County, Fujian Province, and truthfully confessed to the crime of helping information network crimes, and was chased by the Huangdao Branch of the Qingdao Municipal Public Security Bureau in Shandong Province. At present, the case has been transferred to the relevant departments for further handling.

Legal knowledge: The crime of assisting in information network criminal activities is a crime added to the Ninth Amendment to the Criminal Law, which is independently criminalized for acts that knowingly use information networks to commit crimes, providing technical support such as Internet access, server hosting, network storage, communication transmission, etc., or providing assistance in advertising promotion, payment and settlement, etc. In this type of case, the suspect often has a fluke mentality, feeling that he is not involved in the direct crime, so he will not break the law. However, such sophistry cannot justify his "aiding and abetting" behavior.

The police remind that we must enhance the awareness of personal information protection, properly protect their ID cards, bank cards, and mobile phone cards, and once lost, they should immediately report the loss, do not rent, lend or sell bank cards for the sake of small profits, and for those who are discarded and not used, they should be cancelled in time, and they should not be discarded and bought and sold at will. Once a bank card is used by criminals for illegal or criminal activities, your behavior may be suspected of helping information network criminal activities, obstructing credit card management, etc., and you will face criminal liability.
