Anhui, the nation's leading quantum technology company, will invest a total of 2.02 billion yuan in this field in 2021.
Luo Ping, director of the Science and Technology Department of Anhui Province, disclosed the data at a press conference held by the Information Office of the Anhui Provincial Government on January 11.
Luo Ping said that in 2021, Anhui Province will newly set up a major special project to implement provincial science and technology in the field of quantum information technology, and the province and city will invest a total of 2.02 billion yuan to carry out theoretical research in the quantum field and cutting-edge research, and start to build a new generation of "Hefei Quantum Metropolitan Area Network" and Hefei Quantum Computing Industrial Park. At the same time, we will support the construction of main platforms such as the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center, the establishment and operation of the Energy, Artificial Intelligence, and Great Health Research Institute, and the approval for the construction of Hefei advanced light source and air-ground integrated quantum precision measurement experimental facilities.
In terms of scientific and technological innovation and development, Anhui Province's regional innovation capabilities rank first. In 2021, Anhui's regional innovation ability ranked 8th in the country, maintaining the top ten in the country for 10 consecutive years. Among them, the R&D investment index of enterprises rose by 1 place to rank 4th; the comprehensive index of technological improvement ability rose by 2 places to rank 6th; and the industrial structure index rose by 5 places to rank 6th. It is expected that the intensity of R&D investment will reach 2.34% in 2021, with a growth rate of more than 11%.
Luo Ping said that Anhui Province's scientific and technological breakthroughs have achieved remarkable results. "Nine Chapters No. 2" and "Zuchong No. 2" quantum computing prototype machines were launched, the all-superconducting tokamak achieved a thousand seconds long pulse high-parameter plasma operation to refresh the world record, high-performance heterogeneous DSP processors, hydrogen fuel cell engines, high-rigidity high-precision reducers and a number of major innovative achievements have been introduced, and 12 projects in the province have won the 2020 National Science and Technology Award.
In addition, Anhui Province actively explores and practices the "unveiling and hanging the marshal" system, setting up a special project of "unveiling the list and hanging the marshal" in the major provincial science and technology projects in 2021, building a scientific and technological research system of "enterprise questions, government questions, institute answers, and market reading papers", collecting 30 major technical needs for enterprises in the province, releasing 13 lists at home and abroad, and selecting 9 "unveiling and hanging" projects such as "superconducting quantum computing ultra-low temperature microwave interconnection system". Among them, the "ultra-low temperature microwave interconnection system for superconducting quantum computing" project will develop a 100-200-bit superconducting quantum computer extremely low temperature microwave signal transmission system to break the pattern of dependence on imports.
At present, Anhui Province has cultivated a number of leading enterprises in the industry: 190 enterprises have been recognized as high-tech enterprises, a large number of enterprises have become leading enterprises leading the development of the industry, and 14 enterprises such as Origin Quantum and Bowei Terahertz have been selected as "China's Top 500 Invisible Unicorns". In terms of the construction and development of the high-tech zone, Anhui Province guides the construction of "one district and multiple parks" and the development of future industries in the Hefei National High-tech Zone, and advances the layout of "4 + X" future industries such as quantum science and technology and artificial intelligence, future energy, and biomedicine.
