Mr. Ma Fenghui, Secretary of the Party Group of the China Artists Association, Vice Chairman of the Association and Secretary General of the Association, delivered a speech
Sketching is the core spirit of "Li Jia Shanshui", starting from Mr. Li Keyan's Jiangnan sketching in 1954, to Li Xiaoke's decades of sketching in various places, and then to today's Li Xiaoke students' adherence to the concept of writing life. "LiJia Landscape" has formed a clear inheritance system in today's Chinese painting world and has become an important force to promote the development of Chinese painting.
Scene sketching is a record of objective scenes, will be relatively faithful to the original scene, when the artist's subjective consciousness and emotions join, and the depicted object "moisturizing the object silently" integrated, it makes the objective scene unique at the same time more with the artist's personal style, becoming a scene creation. With the theme of "Creation of Scenery" by Li Jia Shanshui, the exhibition focuses on 70 ink works created by Mr. Li Keyan, Mr. Li Xiaoke and young artists of Li Xiaoke Art Studio on the scenery, and presents the artistic characteristics and spiritual theme of "Li Jia Shanshui" to the general public to write and reform Chinese painting.
Mr. Wu Hongliang, President of the Beijing Academy of Painting, delivered a speech
The exhibition coincides with the 350th anniversary of Rongbaozhai and the opening day of December 20, which is also the first birthday after the death of Mr. Li Xiaoke, so as to commemorate Mr. Xiaoke and dedicate it to those who contributed to the oriental culture of the 20th century.
The exhibition will run until 27 December.
Mr. Tang Hui, Deputy General Manager of Rongbaozhai and President of Rongbaozhai Painting Institute, delivered a speech
Sketching changes Li jia landscape
The beauty of mountains and rivers and the interest of nature have always been important themes that Chinese landscape paintings are happy to express. Therefore, after the Fall of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, landscape painting became an independent discipline, and in the history of landscape painting, there were also giants such as Jing Hao, Fan Kuan, and Huang Gongwang. Since the end of the Qing Dynasty, the development of landscape painting has gradually lost its vitality, and it has become a common practice to teach the ancients and build cars behind closed doors. In the early days of the founding of New China, how to change the traditional landscape became a problem facing landscape painters. At the moment when Chinese painting was facing the crisis of survival, Mr. Li Keyan put forward the "two books of intensive reading of nature and tradition" with a high degree of wisdom, and began to sketch with ink painting of tens of thousands of miles four times in the spirit of "the courage of the precious" and "the soul of the desired", changing the fate of Chinese painting at the same time, and constructing a unique style of Li Jia landscape and the times advancing together and thriving.
Ms. Liu Ying, Chairman of the Li Kejian Art Foundation and Mrs. Li Xiaoke's wife, delivered a thank-you speech
This exhibition focuses on Li Keyan's sketches from 1954 to 1959, such as "Beihai Morning Dawn", "Suzhou Tiger Hill", "Rain Yiqi", "On the Li River", etc., which restore the sketching process of Li Keyan from the suburbs of Beijing to the whole country.
From "the development of scene sketching to the creation of scenery", these sketches are full of Mr. Li Keyan's thinking on the reform of Chinese painting. Mr. Li Keyan, who came out of tradition, spent his life practicing the two books of tradition and nature, taking them from the mountains and rivers and giving back to the mountains and rivers with his works. He opened up a new world of Chinese painting, thus letting people see the vitality and new way out of Chinese painting, creating a far-reaching influence on the modern and contemporary painting world "Li Jia Shanshui", and even more influencing the fate of the development of Chinese painting in the twentieth century.
Ms. Liu Yan, Deputy Secretary-General of the Beijing Artists Association, presided over the opening ceremony
Inherit family learning, pioneering development
In 1978, Li Xiaoke accompanied his father Li Keyan to Huangshan and other places to collect styles, sketch and give lectures, during which he also painted a batch of sketches, and used these sketches to enter the Beijing Academy of Painting and become a professional painter. It can be said that sketching is the stepping stone of Li Xiaoke's ink art, and it is also the inheritance and continuation of Li Kejian's artistic spirit. For decades, he has continuously traveled back and forth to Beijing, Tibet, Qinghai, and Anhui; traveled all over the Yellow River, Yangtze River, Huangshan Mountain, and Taihang; in his later years, he also went abroad and went to Europe, America, and Japan, visiting exotic landscapes and creating a large number of wonderful sketches.
The scene of the opening ceremony
"Sketching" is an important link for the artist to connect the emotions given by nature with the traditional stylized forms of expression and personal aesthetic choices, is the rediscovery and re-understanding of nature and tradition, and is an important part of the practice of the basic skills of landscape painting, the most vigorous and vibrant. Sketching is the artist's mind facing the rapidly changing objective world, which can collide traditional and contemporary culture and personal expressive experience, stimulate unlimited creative inspiration, and promote new discoveries in the aesthetic field. In this exhibition, Li Xiaoke's overseas scenes will be highlighted: "Italian Sketching - Florence Old Bridge", "Japanese Sketching - View of Mt. Fuji", "American Sketching - San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge", "American Sketching - Tree" and so on. Different from Li Xiao's "Ink Homeland" series, these scene creations vividly show the artist's profound pen and ink skills and skills in facing the objects of sketching, as well as the inspiration given to his creation by the ever-changing natural light and shadow.
Exhibition site
From the mysterious snowy plateau to the beautiful and majestic modern bridge architecture, from thinking about the layout and composition of sketching to restoring the structural texture of sketch objects, Li Xiao can continuously integrate the traditional essence of Chinese painting with the visual experience of modern people, and integrate his true emotions and authenticity into artistic creation. While inheriting the artistic spirit of Li Kejian, Li Xiaoke constantly expands the new direction and new possibilities for the development of "Li Family Landscape".
Fruitful, peach and plum in unison
After creating his own art style of landscape painting, Li Xiaoke was also enthusiastic about the inheritance of Chinese painting, and successively carried out teaching work in Beijing Academy of Painting, Peking University, Rongbaozhai Painting Institute and other institutions, and successively founded "Li Xiaoke Landscape Painting Advanced Study Class" and "Li Xiaoke Art Studio". Over the past ten years, more than 200 young and middle-aged painters have studied under Li Xiaoke. In the teaching work, Li Xiaoke carefully guided, taught by word and deed, and passed on the artistic concept of "Li Family Landscape" to these students who love the cause of national calligraphy and painting. It was also under his leadership that the painters of Li Xiaoke Art Studio followed the teacher's sketching footprints again and again, and traveled all over the motherland. The exhibition will also focus on the sketches of more than 30 young and middle-aged painters, who paint and create aesthetics from their own artistic perspectives, presenting a diversified artistic outlook, which not only reflects Li Xiao's inclusive teaching concept, but also injects new connotations into the epochal development of "Li Jia Shanshui".
