He was the de facto founder of the Whampoa Military Academy, but due to two mistakes, he could only become a monk

In the history of the founding of the Whampoa Military Academy, everyone will think of The Principal Chiang Kai-shek, the Party Representative Liao Zhongkai, the Education Minister He Yingqin, the Director of the Political Department Zhou Gong, and so on.

In fact, there is another person who is also an important founder, and even actually presided over the creation of the Whampoa Military Academy, that is, Wang Bailing.

He was the de facto founder of the Whampoa Military Academy, but due to two mistakes, he could only become a monk

Wang Bailing is a native of Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, and when he grew up, he was admitted to the Baoding Army Accelerated School, and it was here that he and Chiang Kai-shek became classmates in the same class, and later by chance, they were selected to study in Japan together, so the two became good friends who talked about everything, at that time, the Alliance was just established, recruiting members, and the two of them discussed joining the Alliance together.

Wang Bailing was very eager for revolution, from the beginning of the Wuchang Uprising, he loyally followed Sun Yat-sen all the way, and in 1923, Sun Yat-sen wanted to put the construction plan of the Whampoa Military Academy on the agenda, in addition to Chiang Kai-shek, the first thing that came to mind was Wang Bailing, because Wang Bailing was not only a member of the League, a hero of the Xinhai Revolution, but also a close friend of Sun Yat-sen and Chiang Kai-shek.

Therefore, on the list of the Preparatory Committee of the Whampoa Military Academy, Wang Bailing's name is next to Chiang Kai-shek and he serves as the director of the professorial department. In the early days of the establishment of the military academy, he really did not disappoint the old Chiang Kai-shek, did a lot of practical work, and managed the Whampoa Military Academy in an orderly manner.

It is reasonable to say that a person like Wang Bailing, who has a very strong ability and background, should be a smooth road ahead of him, but the good times are not long, and it is not long before he falls from the peak to the bottom, and after a few years, he disappears without a trace in the military and political circles of the nationalist army.

Why?

The reason is that in addition to not being able to fight, it also lies in his fatal weakness, that is, there is no bottom line for being a person, so that he has lost the popularity accumulated before.

Wang Bailing's most famous deed was to escape from the battlefield, and more than once.

During the First Crusade, Wang Bailing was the leader of the Second Regiment of Teaching, and at that time, the National Revolutionary Army's life was hanging in the balance, but Wang Bailing did not say a word and ran away first, leaving the entire large army behind, almost destroying the entire army.

However, because Wang Bailing was Chiang Kai-shek's iron brother, he was not only not punished, but also promoted, and the old Chiang made him deputy commander of the First Army and commander of the First Division.

However, it was not long before the old Chiang Kai-shek regretted it, and when the Northern Expedition war broke out, Wang Bailing was ordered to go out on the expedition, and at the time of the Nanchang Campaign, Wang Bailing made a mistake in analysis and was very light on the enemy, and finally suffered a crushing defeat. Defeat is actually nothing, victory or defeat is a common thing, the result is surprising, he ran alone again!

This battle can seriously injure the Huangpu elite of the First Army, causing public indignation, this time Wang Bailing really can't hide, and finally Chiang Kai-shek "tearfully cut off the horse", not only removed Wang Bailing from his post, but also let him stay away from the army, and found him a job with 600 oceans per month.

Wang Bailing also had self-knowledge, and later, he simply escaped into the empty door and became a monk.

In 1942, Wang Bailing died of illness at the age of 53.
