On the evening of December 18, 2021 NIO Day 2021 was held in Suzhou, and in the highly anticipated new car launch session, Li Bin, founder of NIO, released the mid-size intelligent electric coupe ET5. The starting price is 328,000 yuan before the ET5 subsidy and 258,000 yuan before the BaaS solution subsidy, and delivery is expected to start in September 2022.
ET5 zero to 100 km acceleration of 4.3 seconds, the use of ULCO's high-performance four-piston aluminum alloy integrated cast caliper, 100 km to zero braking distance of 33.9 meters, wind resistance coefficient as low as 0.24, with the application of silicon carbide power module of a new generation of high-efficiency electric drive platform, equipped with standard battery pack (75kWh) CLTC life of more than 550 km, equipped with long battery pack (100 kWh) endurance of more than 700 km, equipped with ultra-long battery pack (150 kWh) range of more than 1000 km.
The appearance of ET5 combines the NIO supercar gene with the concept of "design for automatic driving", absorbing the smooth lines of ET7, and the muscle outline derived from EP9, plus sharp polylines to create a young and energetic image. The interior space design continues the concept of "second living room", which is exquisite and warm. A large number of Clean+ environmentally friendly fabrics are adopted, the use of invisible air conditioning outlet design, the whole series is equipped with intelligent frameless electric suction door and hidden door handle, with a digital key based on UWB technology, it is more convenient to enter and exit.
In terms of new technologies, Li Bin focused on the NIO PanoCinema, a digital cockpit equipped with AR/VR technology, which is equipped with the ET5. NIO and innovative AR equipment company NREAL have jointly developed exclusive AR glasses that can project a large screen with a visual distance of 6 meters and equivalent to 201 inches; and have also cooperated with NOLO to develop NIO VR Glasses, equipped with ultra-thin Pancake optical lenses, which can achieve binocular 4K display.
NIO ET5 is equipped with NIO's latest automatic driving technology NAD, through the NIO super sense system Aquila and the supercomputing platform Adam, ET5 will gradually realize high-speed, urban area, parking, power exchange and other scenarios, the whole process of safe and relaxing point-to-point automatic driving experience. The full function of NAD adopts the service subscription model of "monthly activation and monthly payment", that is, ADaaS (AD as a Service), the service fee is 680 yuan per month, and the service will be gradually provided after completing the development verification.
At the same time, Li Bin announced at the scene that its medium and large intelligent electric flagship car ET7 will open the lock order on January 20, 2022, and open delivery on March 28. ET7 sets the standard for autonomous driving computing power and sensors, with more than 100 comfortable, safe and intelligent configurations as standard, and more than 20 new configurations and functions have been enhanced during the preparation process of mass production, including accelerating from zero to 100 kilometers to 3.8 seconds, and optimizing the wind resistance coefficient to 0.208.
Making it more convenient to refuel is Weilai's long-term goal. In 2022, NIO will continue to lay out a charging and swapping service network, with more than 1,300 substations, 6,000 overcharge piles, 10,000 destination charging piles nationwide, and more than 30 destination charging routes such as the Silk Road and Xishuangbanna Rainforest.
