When an Android phone is connected to the car via Bluetooth, the updated volume control will provide an enhanced sound experience when streaming music or podcasts are played. In addition, Android phones will be able to support the second generation of BMW digital keys, which can more easily open the car door to start the vehicle.
At the same time, owners of BMW's M3 and M4 models will be able to configure the sound they hear when starting the engine, as well as when the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission shifts. While using the sound control buttons, a quieter mode can be selected.
