In 1661, Kangxi officially ascended the throne, at this time Kangxi was only six years old, still a child, the former emperor instructed four ministers to assist Kangxi in governing. Except for Ao Bai, the other three actually had no effect, because Kangxi was too young to have any real power when he ascended the throne, so he later became the dictatorship of Ao Bai. When Kangxi grew up, he gradually realized the importance of imperial power and used a series of schemes to overthrow Aobai. After Ao Bai stepped down, another thing that troubled Kangxi was that because Fan Zhen had always held military power in his hands, Kangxi could only order the withdrawal of the clan, which caused Wu Sangui to rebel, but the final result was that Kangxi was rehabilitated.
Since the Chongzhen Emperor, Tsarist Russia has been harassing the Heilongjiang region, which originally belonged to China, but Tsarist Russia has invaded many times. After Kangxi learned of this situation, he warned Tsarist Russia many times but to no avail. Kangxi then personally came to Kwantung and sent his men to check the situation in the name of hunting, and finally stopped the exchange between Tsarist Russia and Mongolia, and once again gave a serious warning to Tsarist Russia.
During the Shunzhi years, Tsarist Russia and the Qing Dynasty were constantly fighting, and each time the Tsarist Russia was defeated, but for the Qing Dynasty, the Tsarist Russia was like a fly that could not be driven away, and after many blows, it would not be long before it would harass Heilongjiang again. Kangxi ordered the complete encirclement and suppression of Tsarist Russia in a state of intolerable condition, until 1683, when all the military locations where Tsarist Russia was stationed in the Heilongjiang region were given a pot, and from then on, Yaksa became an isolated city.
In 1685, Kangxi once again rectified Tsarist Russia and ordered Peng Chun to retake Yaksa, a war in which Tsarist Russia was also defeated, and the leader of Tsarist Russia was killed on the spot. More than 800 Russian troops stationed in Yaksa were killed and only about 60 were left, with heavy casualties. In the end, the regent of Tsarist Russia could only negotiate peace with the Qing Dynasty, because he knew that if he did not submit to softness, perhaps the entire Tsarist Russia would be destroyed. In 1689, China and Russia signed the Treaty of Nebuchu, which for the Qing Dynasty was to prevent tsarist Russia from making small moves, and for Tsarist Russia, it was afraid that the Qing Dynasty would attack them again.
This battle of Kangxi was famous abroad, and from then on, in the eyes of Westerners, the Qing Dynasty was also counted as one of the great powers. However, due to the isolation of the country, the Opium War broke out.
