We recently discovered that Tesla is already making changes to its new version of its flagship sedan, the Model S Plaid. This model differs from the 2021 redesign of the Model S Plaid in that it includes a new taillight design and an improved charging door similar to the Model 3 and Model Y.

Last week, Tesla Cybertruck also found a slightly modified version of the Model S in the video that appeared on the test track at the Fremont factory, but the update on the Model S Plaid was ignored due to the presence of all-electric trucks, and now Tesla seems to be testing the new Model S Plaid design on the road.
The first is the taillight design revision
Currently, the Model S Plaid's taillights are designed with a black strip that spans the width of the trunk. This black strip actually goes into the taillights of the current design. The newly designed taillights do not have black bars, as the black bars just stop at the innermost edge of each taillight.

There are also charging port door design modifications
The charging port design on the Model S Plaid has also been redesigned. Previous versions of the vehicle had a small door for the charging port. However, the new design is closer to the Model 3 and Model Y, but the Model S Plaid is a bit larger, but the overall appearance is almost inverted from the charging interface on the Model 3 and modelY.
Speculation about why Tesla would do this seems to suggest that the Model S Plaid needs a CCS-compatible design to be seamless when vehicles are launched in markets that use the charging port, including Europe, where electric cars are very popular.
And it is worth noting that Tesla only updated the design of the Model S at the end of last year, and the Model S Plaid began delivery in June 2021. If this update is determined to be the 2022 version of the Model S Plaid, then the replacement speed of this model is indeed beyond our imagination.
