Lucky Tesla Model S Plaid owners have recently received OTA upgrades from Track Mode, after Tesla added track mode to Model 3 Performance through OTA. Tesla said that the upgraded Model S Plaid allows the driver to make fine adjustments to the vehicle's front and rear wheel power distribution, as well as the amplitude of the electronic stability system's intervention (which can be completely turned off), which means that the Model S Plaid can finally play drift freely!
The track mode is also optimized for the torque vectoring mode of the Model S Plaid rear axle dual motors, which also pre-cools the powertrain to allow the vehicle to withstand the heat shock of the intense driving of the track for as long as possible, the kinetic energy recovery system is adjusted to the highest level to reduce the load on the braking system (which can also be adjusted itself), and the adaptive damper is kept in mode with the lowest ground distance. The digital dashboard and new 17-inch touchscreen also add the display of real-time temperature, G-force meter, lap timer and other configurable vehicle information for the powertrain.
Tesla will continue to optimize track mode, and there will be an updated version of "Speed 200mph" (200mph=322km/h, which is the speed data promised in Plaid's promotional materials) in the future, in order to defend the throne of "New North's fastest electric car"! According to the actual measurements of North American car owners, the Model S Plaid, which originally had a speed of only 261km/h, can reach more than 278km/h after upgrading the track mode! In the middle of this year, Tesla will introduce a carbon-ceramic brake kit as an optional upgrade for the model, priced at $20,000 (with a $4,500 21-inch rim).
