I. Huang Yongsheng: From "Xu Qian" to "Yongsheng"

The first to have the privilege of getting the chairman's name change was Admiral Huang Yongsheng.

In 1910, Huang Yongsheng was born in a poor peasant family in Xianning, Hubei Province, and probably the elders were particularly eager to have money, so they named him Huang Xuqian. In July 1927, in order to eat a full meal, Huang Xuqian joined the Chongyang County Militia Regiment (later renamed the Peasants' Self-Defense Army). Soon, the militia regiment was mixed with the guard regiment of the General Headquarters of the Second Front Of the National Revolutionary Army and became one of the main forces of the Autumn Harvest Uprising. After the failure of the uprising, the remnants were organized into the First Division of the Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army and drove up JinggangShan. Huang Yongsheng, who followed along the way, also became the "old man" of the Autumn Harvest Uprising and Jinggangshan.

During a battle on Jinggang Mountain, an enemy force suddenly hit the vicinity of the Red Fourth Army headquarters. Huang Xuqian, who was the squad leader at the time, immediately led the entire squad of fighters to counterattack the enemy army, and after a fierce battle, the enemy army was repelled, and the army was able to turn the crisis into safety. After the war, the chairman specially received Huang Xuqian and praised him. Then he asked Huang Shuqian, who was only eighteen years old, where he was from and what his name was.

Huang Xuqian said: "Report Member Mao, I am a native of Xianning, Hubei Province, and my name is Huang Xuqian. The Chairman asked, "Which narrative is it?" Huang Shuqian said, "It is a narrative of Yu characters plus another word." "

The chairman smiled and said, "Talk about money, talk about money, or talk about money!" That's not good, revolutionary fighters can't just talk about money. He pondered for a moment and said, "Well, I will change your name, and I hope that you will always advance victoriously on the road of revolution, and your name will be Huang Yongsheng!" Huang Shuqian felt that the name was loud and nodded happily. Later, Huang Yongsheng was indeed victorious all the way, and in 1955 he was awarded the title of general.

2. Xu Shiyou: From "Shiyou" to "Shiyou"

In February 1905, Xu Shiyou was born in a farming family in Macheng, Hubei Province. In the early years, due to a dispute with the son of the landlord, he beat the other party to death by mistake, and was forced to flee to other places, and then killed people, so he had to join the army and join Wu Peifu's warlord troops. After committing the third murder in the army, he fled to exile, and finally joined the Red Army, becoming a Li Kui-style figure who often acted as a captain of the death squad, and was deeply influenced by Zhang Guotao, and was tired of serving as a commander of the Red Fourth Front.

In 1935, Xu Shiyou met the chairman for the first time. The Chairman said to him, "I hear your name a lot. What are the words in your name? Xu Shiyou replied: "My surname is Yan Wuxu, the family tree is the word 'Shi', and my parents gave me the name Xu Shiyou." After joining the Red Army, I learned to read and write when I had time, and only then did I realize that 'Shi' meant to be an official, and it was better to change 'Shi' to 'Shi'. He also smiled and asked: Can I change my name?"

The chairman also laughed and said, "Is it okay to change the word 'scholar' to the 'world' of the world?" Called Xu Shiyou, o friend of the world. This time we are going north to resist Japan, and we must look far away and look at the world! So, be a friend of the world. "

Xu Shiyou felt that it was very reasonable, smiled happily, and began to use the name "Xu Shiyou" from then on. Because of this experience of changing his name, coupled with Xu Shiyou's rude personality and frequent slashing, the chairman believed that he was thick and thin, and would not have a heart, and was particularly close to this general who was not from the Red Army, and had been reusing it, and was awarded the rank of general in 1955.

Interestingly, the name of Xu Shiyou's later wife Tian Pu was also taken by the chairman. Tian Pu, whose original name was Tian Minglan, met the chairman for the first time in the 1950s after many years of marriage with Xu Shiyou. When the chairman learned that it was Xu Shiyou's wife, he asked, "Is it the field where the fields are planted?" Tian Pu replied, "Yes." The chairman smiled and said, "The surname Tian is well, it should be that the field is universal." Therefore, Tian Pu changed his name from Tian Minglan to Tian Pu, and like Xu Shiyou, he received the "Imperial Gift" daimyo.

III. Wang Ping: From "Wang Ming" to "Wang Ping"

In October 1907, Wang Ping was born in a poor peasant family in Yangxin, Hubei Province, and his original name was Wang Weiyun. After joining the Red Army in 1930, because the company commander Yu was a Guangdong native, he shouted his name as "Wang Weng Weng" every time he was named, which caused everyone to laugh. So, he changed his name to the easy to remember Wang Ming. No, with another Wang Ming duplicate name, often joked by others, very uncomfortable.

In late December 1936, Wang Ping graduated from the Red Army University and prepared to take up a new post in the army. The chairman received him and He Jinnian and explained the task in person. Before parting, Wang Ping wanted to stop talking, and the chairman asked, "Is there any difficulty?" Wang Ping said, "I want to change my name. "

The chairman immediately understood his thoughts and said humorously: "Wang Ming, this name is very good, international representative!"

Wang Ping smiled shyly and said, "It's precisely because others always make fun of me like this, so I have to change my name." The chairman agreed, and wrote the word Wang Ping on the appointment letter: "Order, He Jinnian is the commander of the Twenty-seventh Army, and Wang Ping is the political commissar of the Twenty-seventh Army." "

Since then, Wang Ping has passed away under his new name, holding many important military positions, and was awarded the rank of general in 1955.

Fourth, the solution: from "solution to the river" to "solution"

In 1908, Xie Fang was born in Dongping, Jilin (now Dongfeng County), his original name was Xie Ruchuan, and he used the name Xie Peiran. He worked under Zhang Xueliang in his early years, secretly joined the CCP in April 1936, and assisted Zhang Xueliang in initiating the "Xi'an Incident".

Xie Fang has been engaged in underground work in the Northeast Army for a long time, serving as a member of the upper level of the Fifty-first Army of the Northeast Army and the secretary of the Northeast Military Industry Committee, and has developed 30 underground party members. In June 1940, due to the arrest and defection of Xiang Naiguang, the head of the underground party of the Northeast Army, Xie Fang was forced to leave the Northeast Army and arrived in Yan'an in the spring of 1941.

When the chairman received the party, he said: "You have returned to 'home', you should have a loud name, don't call Xie Ruchuan or Xie Peiran anymore, I will change your name, call it 'Xie Fang', okay?" Xie Fang was very happy and said, "I like it very much!" He understood that "liberation" meant "liberation" and that he was finally liberated.

After xiefang's return, he successively served as chief of staff of the 358th Brigade of the 120th Division of the Eighth Route Army, deputy chief of staff of the Northeast People's Autonomous Army, deputy commander of the Liaoning Military Region, chief of staff of the 12th Corps of the Fourth Field Army, deputy commander of the 40th Army, and chief of staff of the Volunteer Army, and was awarded the rank of major general in 1955.

V. Fan Ming: From "Hao Keyong" to "Fan Ming"

In December 1914, Fan Ming was born in Lintong County, Shaanxi Province, to a family of cultivators. His father, Hao Pengcheng, was one of the founders of the Northwest Army and served as the commander of the special forces battalion of Yang Hucheng's department. His eldest brother Hao Kejun served as a company instructor in Yang Hucheng's department.

In 1938, Fan Mingsheng was sent to the 38th Army Teaching Brigade of Zhao Shoushan of the Northwest Army as a political instructor, and then served as a member of the underground work committee of the Thirty-eighth Army, established a party organization in the teaching team, and secretly carried out the party's military movement work.

In July 1942, the chairman recalled Hao Keyong to Yan'an to learn about the situation of the 38th Army. When the two met, the chairman suddenly asked about the situation of Hao Keyong's uncle's family: "What is your uncle's family name?" Hao Keyong replied with the surname Fan. The chairman also asked, "Is it Fan Zhongyan's 'Fan' or Fan Lihua's 'Fan'?" Knowing that it was the former, the chairman said, "Well, then change your name to Fan Ming!" Comrades who have done secret work should change their names and surnames when they return to Yan'an. "

Since then, Hao Keyong has been born as "Fan Ming". After liberation, probably even his surname was changed, and Fan Ming applied to change his original name, which was the only general who asked to change back to his original name. The chairman said: The name Fan Ming is now famous at home and abroad, or it is not good to change it. He was awarded the rank of major general in 1955.
