During the Three Kingdoms period, the three kingdoms of Wei and Shu and Wu were divided into the world, with Liu Bei in the Shu state, Cao Cao in the Wei state, and Sun Quan in the Wu state. From now on, when we read some historical thinkers, we will find that many historical works are about Cao Cao and Liu Bei. For example, some scholars have specially compiled the "Cao Cao Collection" for Cao Cao and the "Zhuge Liang Collection" for Zhuge Liang, and we rarely find about the characters of the State of Wu, and no one has ever written a biography of Sun Quan.
It can be seen that many historians and among the historical folk, most people do not have too high evaluation of Sun Quan, and even we will find that some evaluations are actually very unfair. Is Sun Quan of the State of Wu really far from Cao Bei compared to Cao Cao?
In fact, this is not the case, and most historians have greatly underestimated the character of Sun Quan. This may be because Sun Quan has a weakness compared to other great thinkers of history, that is, Sun Quan was born of a less prominent Non-Shi clan, and the political foundation of Sun Quan is actually relatively lacking compared to others. This is why most people do not mention Sun Quan, but in fact, Sun Quan is also a very great thinker in history.
Sun Quan, who was the latest emperor, won the final victory.
Among Sun Quan Liu Bei and Cao Cao, Sun Quan was the latest to be called emperor, and we know that before calling himself emperor, he usually had to be called king first. However, in Sun Quan's family, they have always nominally regarded themselves as Han Chen, which is actually an important factor restricting Sun Quan from becoming emperor.
From Sun Jian to Sun Ce, and then to the last Sun Quan. Their canonization was carried out by Cao Cao, under the guise of the Son of Heaven, but in fact, they were all handled by Cao Cao. Cao Cao was the first to proclaim himself King of Wei, and Liu Bei also called himself King of Hanzhong three years later. Since Sun Quan still had the name of a Han chen at this time, he had no way to compete with Cao Cao and Liu Bei. After Succeeding Cao Cao, Cao Pi also successfully completed the process of becoming king and emperor. In this way, until Liu Bei became emperor, he was going to go on a crusade against the state of Wu, so that Sun Quan was forced to submit to Cao Pi and become a vassal, and henceforth broke away from the name of Han Chen. Cao Pi also subsequently created Sun Quan the King of Wu. In this way, it was not until after Cao Pi's death that Sun Quan had the courage to claim the throne on his own and oppose Cao Jun.
It can be seen that Sun Quan was the latest of Cao Cao and Liu Bei to be called emperor in the same era. But in terms of the length of time we have been called emperor and king, Sun Quan has actually reigned the longest, he ruled Jiangdong for 53 years, and he is the oldest compared to Cao Cao and Liu Bei, and he did not die until he was 71 years old. When we look back at the time of the existence of the Three Kingdoms of Shu and Wu, we will find that the longest existing of the Three Kingdoms is actually the State of Wu, which has existed for nearly half a century, in this sense, in fact, the State of Wu is the final winner of the Three Kingdoms.
The grand strategy planned is comparable to that of Cao Cao Zhuge Liang
Cao Cao had a grand strategy of successfully unifying the north of the world, and Zhuge Liang's grand strategy was to achieve the Longzhong confrontation. In fact, Sun Quan himself was also plotting a grand strategy comparable to That of Cao Cao and Zhuge Liang, but it was not fully implemented successfully, so it was not well known to us.
In Sun Quan's grand strategy, the first part is to resettle displaced people.
We all know that in fact, sun quan's foundation of the State of Wu was the support of the major clans in Jiangdong, and because the financial income of the State of Wu was actually more from the ordinary people of Jiangdong. Therefore, Sun Quan thought of a strategy in terms of internal affairs to balance the interests of major families and ordinary people, so as to increase the income of the country. This strategy was that Sun Quan designed an administrative unit named Qiu to resettle displaced people and organize unified agricultural production so that they would not be directly managed by the government so that they would not be controlled by the major families. It can be said that qiu's internal political strategy is no less important than the significance of the Tuntian system to the Wei state.
The second part is that Sun Quan wants to firmly grasp the area in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River in his own hands.
After inheriting his father's brother's great cause, Sun Quan established the intention of occupying the Yangtze River with the assistance of Lu Su and then establishing the emperor. It was from that time that Sun Quan ostensibly united with Liu Bei, but he secretly continued to implement his own policy. In the end, Sun Quan seized the opportunity to seize Jingzhou, and since then the middle reaches of the Yangtze River have been firmly controlled by Sun Quan.
The third part is that on the surface, it is better with the Shu state, and secretly it is connected with Gongsun Yuan, who is far away in Liaodong.
During Zhuge Liang's Northern Expedition against Cao Wei, Sun Quan had always been superficially friendly with the State of Shu, but secretly he had always established relations with Liaodong in order to contain the State of Wei and continuously strengthen his own strength.
The fourth part is that he wants to divide the world and win the Central Plains.
When he established an alliance with the Shu state, he divided Cao Wei's territory. The intention of this division was actually to turn the entire northeast region into a strategic base for the State of Wu, so that the strength of the State of Wu and the State of Shu would be unbalanced, and the State of Wu would have the opportunity to unify the world.
From Sun Quan's grand strategy, we can see that sun quan can completely construct such a grand strategy, and Sun Quan is actually a thinker who can compete with Cao Cao and Zhuge Liang.
