57 years ago, when there was a flood in South Korea, a Chinese stone stele rushed out, and after knowing the history of the stele, his face turned green

Ancient China and its neighbors have always been relatively frequent, so in Japan, South Korea and other places will find some Cultural Relics related to China. In 1963, there was a flood in South Korea, and a stone stele with Chinese written on it rushed out, but this stele was something that Koreans did not want to see, and even more angry, their faces were green.

This has to start with the Qing Emperor Taiji, the eighth son of Nurhaci, who was born on October 25 of the 20th year of the Ming Dynasty (November 28, 1592). From an early age, he was loved by Nurhaci, and when he grew up, he went out with his father and brothers. In the eleventh year of the Mandate of Heaven (1626), after the death of Nurhaci, Emperor Taiji was elected to the Khan's throne. After ascending to the throne, Emperor Taiji always wanted to destroy the Ming Dynasty and seize national power.

In the first year of Chongde (1636), Emperor Taiji declared himself emperor in Shengjing and established the name of the country as Daqing. It was also at this time that Emperor Taiji invaded Korea. I have to say that the strength of North Korea is not very good, it was originally beaten by Toyotomi Hideyoshi during the Wanli calendar, and many years later, it was directly attacked by the Emperor Taiji and the capital Seoul. When the Japanese fought, They had Daming to help them, but now the Ming Dynasty itself was unable to protect itself, and the Korean Emperor Li Qiang could only flee to Namhansan Castle for refuge, and this battle was known as the Battle of Chengzi.

Emperor Taiji attacked Korea only to relieve the worries of attacking the Ming Dynasty in the future, which was also the second invasion of Korea by Houjin. The battle was personally led by Emperor Taiji with a 100,000-strong army, and it reached the Korean capital in twelve days. In the spring of 1937, Li Qiang could not stand it, surrendered to the Qing Dynasty, and changed from a vassal state of the Ming Dynasty to a vassal state of the Qing Dynasty. The Qing Dynasty broke off its worries, and Li Qiang sent his eldest son and second son to the Qing Dynasty as hostages. But the Korean people actually hated the Qing Dynasty, but Li Qiang still had to curry favor with the Qing Dynasty, and on June 26, 1937, he planned to erect a monument to commemorate the merits of the Emperor Taiji.

The piece that was washed out in the flood with Chinese characters was the one that Li Qiangli had erected in that year, and after the matter of erecting the monument was proposed, he began to write appropriate inscriptions, and finally the Han officials of the Qing Dynasty set the inscription. Although the Qing Dynasty was ruled by the Mongols, in order to adapt to the Central Plains, many people actually learned Chinese, and after entering the customs, they also promoted Chinese, so it is not surprising that this inscription is Chinese.

It is said that this stele, which is known as the Monument of Merit of the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, has a rough and tumbling matter as to why it was washed out from under the flood. In 1894, the Sino-Japanese Naval Battle of Jiawu broke out, and the Beiyang Marine Division of the Qing Dynasty was destroyed. Korea was drawn into the Japanese camp at the beginning of the war, but in fact it still held a wait-and-see attitude, after all, it was beaten so badly by the Qing Dynasty. However, after the Battle of Jiawu, the Qing Dynasty was defeated, all the Qing troops were expelled, and Korea was close to Japan.

The Ying'en Gate, the place they used to welcome the envoys of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and this monument to the merits of the Qing Emperor, was demolished in February 1895. They were very happy, in the end this was a shame, and since then the Monument of Merit of the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty has been buried in the ground. It was dug up and erected in 1913, and in 1956, the South Korean Minister of Culture and Education felt that the monument was too humiliating and buried it in the ground again.

This monument is also really tenacious, and God insists on making it stand in this world, so in 1963, when the flood in South Korea rose, this monument was washed out again. People were also surprised that after a stele with Chinese characters was confirmed to be a monument to the merits of the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty, some Koreans were so angry that their faces turned green. Soon, the government felt that both cultural heritage and national shame should be remembered, so it was protected as a historical site No. 101.

A park was also built nearby in 1983, and in 2007 nationalists noticed it, feeling that this shame should not exist, and vandalized it. Four months after the prisoners were arrested, the Monument of Merit of the Emperor of the Qing Dynasty was repaired. In 2010, it was examined again, and the copper plate depicting Li Qiang kneeling to worship the Emperor Taiji was removed. It is now erected in The Sanda do district of the present-day Seoul Special City of the Republic of Korea.
