During the War of Resistance Against Japan, a large number of heroic figures appeared, who were not afraid of death and exchanged their blood for the stability of the motherland today. After the victory of the War of Resistance, the heroes who survived, because of the war, more or less left some physical pain, some even lifelong disabilities, or died early. But fortunately, there are exceptions, today we will tell about a long-lived combat heroine, she is now 112 years old, is one of the few long-lived female soldiers.

The female soldier named Zhou Xiulian was born in Changsha. Zhou Xiulian's family is also a local famous family, and the capital is very strong. Therefore, although Zhou Xiulian is a woman, she has also received the best education since she was a child. In the late Qing Dynasty, there were already a number of people in China who accepted Western ideas, and Zhou Xiulian was one of these people. And it was precisely because she was exposed to these new ideas that she had the idea of joining the revolution. After the outbreak of the Xinhai Revolution, Zhou Xiulian saw the hope of the road of freedom and democracy, and at this time, she strengthened her confidence in the revolution.
At the age of 18, Zhou Xiulian responded to the call to join the Women's Federation, and during her work, she tried everything to fight for the rights of women's friends. During her time in the Women's Federation, Zhou Xiulian understood more clearly that only the revolution can have a way out, and only the revolution will turn equality from a dream into a reality. However, her own adherence to this idea was still very repulsive at the time, although there would be like-minded people at work, but when she returned home, she felt that her path was very lonely, which improved after she met her husband.
Zhou Xiulian's husband is named Yang Ping, and Yang Ping, like Zhou Xiulian, is a young man of the new era who pursues freedom and democracy. Unlike Zhou Xiulian, Yang Ping was not only a young man in the new era, but also a soldier. During that period, the people who joined the army were very busy with official business, so Zhou Xiulian rarely saw her husband after marrying her husband Yang Ping at the age of 24. Of course, even if it is difficult for the two to meet, their hearts are in one place, and the husband and wife relationship is still very firm.
Yang Ping was a highly valued general in the army at that time, so many tasks were arranged to him. Because it was difficult for her husband to meet her husband once she rushed to the front line, she discussed with her husband whether she could go to the army to do logistics before her husband went out. Seeing his wife's expectant eyes, Yang Ping also understood that his wife could not stay idle, so he agreed to her proposal. In this way, the husband and wife, one inside and one outside, did what they could to resist Japan. At that time they may have been exemplary couples in the revolutionary ranks. However, in a war, an unfortunate thing happened, Yang Ping died after being hit by a bullet on the way to support the Burmese battlefield.
Since then, Zhou Xiulian has never seen her husband again, and even the photos of relieving her thoughts have been completely damaged by a fire. But this did not make Zhou Xiulian's thoughts about her husband lessen, but gradually deepened over time. Without photos, it is not a good idea to recall the past based on the shadow of your husband in your mind. But it was in this situation that Zhou Xiulian lived alone for more than seventy years, and she never stopped missing her husband in these years, but the shadow in her mind became more and more blurred because there was no photo.
It is gratifying that 73 years later, volunteers successfully found a photo of Zhou Xiulian's husband, General Yang Ping, in the archives, and after 73 years, Zhou Xiulian burst into tears when she first saw her husband's photo. Because she recognized that this was her husband Yang Ping at the first time, her inner thoughts could no longer be suppressed and finally broke out at this moment. This long-lived female soldier may have made up for all the regrets in this life at this moment. But to be able to "reunite" with her husband after 73 years is also a happy thing for her.
