Chen Geng is very sincere about his feelings. He and his first wife, Wang Genying, met at school and combined in the most dangerous intelligence work, a very legendary couple. Unfortunately, on March 8, 1939, Wang Genying died heroically to protect important documents, at the age of 32.
The death of his wife hit Chen Geng very hard. He was directing his troops to the west of the Pinghan Line, and his wife's report of death made him sad, and tears rolled down his eyes. Too sad, he interrupted his diary habit for more than a month and said that he would keep a three-year holiday for his wife, during which time he would not consider reorganizing the family.

Fu Ya was born in Xiangmendi and had a large family, with a total of 10 brothers and sisters in addition to his parents. Her eldest brother Fu Sen went to Yan'an under the influence of the revolutionary Lin Boqu and wrote to his younger siblings, hoping that they would also come here and make a difference in the vast world. In April 1938, Fu Ya came to Yan'an with a younger brother and a younger sister. In 1940, Fu Ya followed the troupe to panlong town in Wuxiang County, Shaanxi Province. Once, they went to the home of Wang Zhitao, director of the Propaganda Department of the county party committee, to borrow props, and met Chen Geng who was recuperating here. Chen Geng had just participated in the Battle of Huichang, and although he was wounded in the battle, he still did not forget to brag, and his humorous words made people laugh. But for his own injuries, he described them lightly. At this moment, Chen Geng and Fu Ya both had some strange feelings in each other's hearts.
However, just because of the feeling, the two people at this time could not come together. Chen Geng was observing the festival for Wang Genying, and Fu Ya himself had a marriage contract. Fu Ya's fiancé was in cahoots with her, but he had no interest in revolutionary work. Fu Ya once wrote a letter asking him to come to Yan'an to resist Japan and save the country together, but he was rejected by one mouth, and the marriage contract slowly became unfinished.

The life of a soldier is destined to be tense, especially for a talent like Chen Geng. After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japan, the War of Liberation was followed. After Fu Ya married Chen Geng, although he was bent on running his own family, he was still very concerned about his mother's family and corresponded frequently. But by 1949, she had lost contact with her parents, and all the letters she sent were lost. Later, she went south with the army and arrived in Guangzhou, where she learned that her parents, sisters and brothers-in-law, younger siblings, and sisters-in-law had all gone to Taiwan with the help of comrades from the Southern Bureau. From this letter, Fu Ya learned that his parents had died, and they left a last word, hoping to transport the ashes back to the mainland and return the fallen leaves to their roots. In 1984, Fu Ya's sister returned to her homeland from the United States, met Fu Ya, and then lived in her home. The sisters talked about the past and their respective current situations. At this time, Fu Ya realized that his brothers and sisters-in-law were not comfortable in Taiwan. Because she was the wife of Chen Geng, a general in the People's Liberation Army, her relatives were closely monitored when they arrived in Taiwan, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law were imprisoned for this. Later, with the relaxation of the policy of political prisoners, they were able to re-enter society. Now, through their own efforts, they have also lived a decent life.

Finally, in 1986, Fu Ya's parents returned to their hometown and were buried on the banks of West Lake in Hangzhou. In 1992, Fu Ya left for retirement, so he wanted to go to Taiwan to see his relatives in person. More than half a century has passed, and the red face of that year has become white hair, but the family affection is still abandoned. After the formalities were completed, Fu Ya flew from Hong Kong to Taiwan. After walking out of the airport, she saw a dozen cars lined up, all coming to pick up her siblings and their children. Fu Ya lived in his second brother's home for more than two months, singing and laughing with his relatives every day. Later, Fu Ya returned to Beijing, receiving several batches of relatives who came back to visit her every year, and lived a very comfortable life in his later years.
