A patchwork smorgasbord based on the story behind BMW's Ford Mustang

Earlier this week, there was a crazy rendering that combined the 1965 Ford Mustang GT350 Fastback body with the Dodge Challenger Hellcat and paired it with the chassis of the 2001 BMW 325i.

After that, I got in touch with the store that commissioned the rendering, and on this basis, I actually built a car. The team at Custom FN Customs calls it the "Wallenstein Project" and starts building it before the renderings.

It all started with a mustang shell brought in by a customer, which was a patchwork of multiple hatchbacks, a bit like a hodgepodge, and required a lot of work to prepare it, which scared the owner. He chose to sell it to Custom FN Customs for $500.

The team remembers that it had a 2001 BMW 325i that had been there until the store was founded. Since there was no room to store the two cars, they decided to simply merge the two cars. As you can see, they simply cut off the BMW's bodywork and mounted the modified Mustang shell on it.

Since it combined the Mustang and BMW chassis, the team at Custom FN Customs thought they'd better find a name for the car. Later they named it Wallenstein, which is the name of a German thoroughbred horse.

As a drift car, the team wanted to swap out the standard engine, replacing it with the N63 4.4-liter BMW V8 engine. According to Davis, their tuner could make it burst out about 1,000 horsepower (1,014 horsepower/756 kW).

When it's all assembled, Custom FN Customs plans to bring the Wallenstein project to SEMA in 2022 along with another 1972 K5 Blazer project combined with the 2009 Cadillac Escalade. If you want to see what it looks like, keep an eye out for Abimelec's Ins page, as artists are currently rendering it as well, around 2022.
