Everywhere they went, they left a trail of rubble, ashes, blood, and corpses that were unbearable for the eyes to see.
Under the white terror of the enemy, there are also people who have lost confidence in the future of the revolution and are afraid that their brains will move. At that time, the armed struggle in the Dabie Mountain area was at a low ebb, and only 72 comrades were left in the troops of the uprising, who turned to fight in the Mulan Mountain area of Huangpi County to fight guerrillas, which is the famous Mulan Mountain 72 Heroes.
Of these 72 heroes, 5 survived after the founding of New China, all became founding generals, one of whom was Chen Zaidao.
In March 1931, Chen Zaidao led his troops to a temple in Xinzhou County, Hubei Province, to rest.
The dry food brought by the troops had been eaten, and everyone had to endure hunger and let their stomachs and intestines toss back and forth. Chen Zaidao thought, how to solve the problem of the soldiers eating?
Dressed as a soldier of the Kuomintang troops, he came to the homes of several local tycoons and inferior gentry, and one of them nodded and smiled and said: "Sir, the old decay does not know that your army is coming, and there is a long way to meet, sincerely hope that Haihan, forgive me for my innocence." ”
"We passed through this place to save the people from suffering, just to have a full meal, nothing else." Chen Zaidao said with a serious face.
"Yes, sir, I will do it at once to comfort the national army that has worked hard and made great achievements." Saying that, the guy took one step at a time, stepped backwards and walked out of the house, preparing for Chen Zai to eat and drink.
The local tycoons and gentry sent powerful people to slaughter pigs and sheep, net fish to catch turtles, and were very busy. After only a while, chicken, duck and fish meat were placed on eight or nine tables.
At that time, Chen Zai said that they were hungry, and they were not happy to see this rich feast. While the warriors ate the table, they laughed secretly at the local tycoons and gentry who took turns to persuade the wine. During the banquet, some local tycoons and inferior gentry actually took out the change of heavenly tent, expanded the list of peasant associations, and begged the "national army" to "avenge the snow and hatred" for them.
After Chen Zaidao and the warriors had eaten enough, these local tycoons and inferior gentry smiled and bid farewell. Saying that it was too late, it was fast, Chen Zaidao pulled out the pistol in his waist and issued a signal to move immediately, and the soldiers pounced on it, three times five divided by two, and in a few strokes, they tied this group of local tycoons and inferior gentry to the ground. Chen Zaidao shouted, "Put up your ears and listen, we are ming people who don't do secret things, we are the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army led by the Communist Party, and it is you local tycoons and inferior gentry who want to be caught!" ”
Hearing these words, these local tycoons and squires who usually rode on the heads of the common people as a blessing seemed to wake up from a dream and kept prostrating their heads and begging for forgiveness.
In 1955, Chen Zaidao was awarded the rank of general.
