The founding lieutenant general was taken prisoner by the Japanese army, and he drew his gun and fired three shots at the temple, but the gun did not sound!

Author: Forget about the jianghu

One day in October 1942, Liu Deng, who was far away in the Taihang Mountains, got bad news.

Song Renqiang, political commissar of the Ji'nan Military Region, reported that Liu Zhijian, deputy political commissar and director of the political department of the Ji'nan Military Region, was on his way to the 6th Sub-district when he was surrounded by Japanese and puppet armies and was unfortunately arrested. The content of the telegram was very brief, but in the eyes of Liu Deng, the chief of the Taihang base area, every word made their heads bigger: the Eighth Route Army had never had such a high-level general captured by the Japanese army!

Not long after, Peng Zong, deputy commander-in-chief of the Eighth Route Army, also called to inquire about the situation. Since Mr. Zhu returned to Yan'an in May 1940, Mr. Peng was the de facto front commander of the Eighth Route Army. Even Mr. Peng was alarmed, who is this Liu Zhijian?

The Eighth Route Army broke through and counter-swept

First, the children of the poor have long been in charge

Liu Zhijian was born in 1912 in Pingjiang, Hunan Province, to a poor peasant family.

There are three brothers in the family, Liu Zhijian is the second oldest, because of the poor family, from the age of five or six to help his parents work, at dawn he has to go up to the mountains to collect firewood and mushrooms, sometimes go to the rice fields and ponds to touch fish and shrimp, fish for chickens, pick up grass lines and fennel roots during the autumn harvest season, help his mother rub grass ropes and grass shoes at night, and the next day, like Uncle Liu Huang in "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", carry straw shoes to the street to sell.

Although the family is stretched, parents know the disadvantages of "blindness", tighten the belt of their pants and send their children to literacy.

At the age of 10, Liu Zhijian had a hard time entering the school, and after only one year of study, he dropped out of school and went home to work. A year later, with the enthusiastic support of an uncle in the family, he studied for another 9 months. But from then on, there was no money in his family for him to continue his studies, and he dropped out of school and went home to work.

In his youth, Liu Zhijian has been herding cattle, cutting firewood, cutting pigs and grass, doing short-term work, and working as a long-term worker for the rich family, suffering from exploitation and oppression, but he has also tempered his will not to be afraid of hardship. In 1928, Liu Zhijian participated in the Pingjiang Uprising led by Peng Dehuai and Teng Daiyuan. In May 1930, at the age of 18, Liu Zhijian joined the Red Army and embarked on the revolutionary road.

II. The "Four Leaders" of the Southern Hebei Military Region

During the agrarian revolution, Liu Zhijian fought in Peng Zong's Red Third Army.

After joining the army, Liu Zhijian, who had read books for less than 2 years, successively served as secretary, chief of the clerical section, director of the secretariat, minister of the youth department, and secretary of the general branch of the directly subordinate team. After meeting the Division of the Red Fourth Front during the Long March, he was transferred to the propaganda department of the Red Fourth Front, and soon became the director of the Political Department of the Red Fourth Army. After the Red Army was reorganized into the Eighth Route Army, he served as the director of the Propaganda Department and the deputy director of the Political Department of the 129th Division.

In May 1938, Liu Zhijian advanced into the Nangong with his deputy division commander Xu Qiangqian to support Chen Zaidao's eastward column.

In April 1942, Liu Zhijian was appointed deputy political commissar and director of the political department of the Ji'nan Military Region, the first-in-command commander Chen Zaidao, the second-in-command political commissar Song Renqian, and the third-in-command deputy commander Wang Hongkun.

In early October 1842, the Ji'nan Military Region held an emergency meeting, after which the four chiefs acted separately.

At that time, there were 6 military sub-districts in the Ji'nan Military Region, and 4 people went separately to convey the instructions of the meeting: Commander Chen Zaidao went to the 3rd Sub-district, Political Commissar Song Renqiao went to the 1st Sub-District, Deputy Commander Wang Hongkun went to the 2nd and 4th Sub-districts, and Deputy Political Commissar and Director of the Political Department Liu Zhijian went to the farther 5th and 6th Sub-districts.

Third, it is impossible to commit suicide by firing three shots in a row

The main reason why the commanders of the Ji'nan Military Region moved separately down to the military sub-districts was to strengthen the command of anti-sweeping operations.

1942 was the most difficult period in the North China base area, and many generals died, such as Guo Guoyan, commander of the Taihang 3rd Subdistrict, Fan Zixia, commander of the 6th Sub-district, Liu Shisong, director of the Political Department of the New 7th Brigade, Yang Hongming, commander of the 4th Sub-district of Ji'nan, Sun Yimin, director of the Political Department, and so on.

On the night of October 15, each of the four chiefs of Southern Hebei was escorted by a cavalry squad and rushed to their destination at night.

Liu Zhijian and Zhang Ce, the head of the organization department, also brought a cavalry squad, and after two days and two nights, arrived at the scheduled camp Zaoqiang County Master You Village. Master You Village is close to Da Li Zhuang Village, Cao Zhuang Village, Bian Village and other villages, and is less than 40 kilometers northeast of Nangong, the core area of Ji'nan.

However, the "iron wall encirclement" of the Japanese puppet army has not stopped, and a group of Japanese troops have been ambushed near the village of Master You, "waiting with a net.". Liu Zhijian and the cavalry squad had not yet rested, and the sound of gunfire outside the village was everywhere, and they were already surrounded by regiments. During the breakout, Liu Zhidan and the cavalry squad were scattered.

Liu Zhijian, who was fighting alone, was shot in the thigh of his right leg and fell off his horse, unable to walk. He climbed into the ditch next to him and ate the documents first, just as Hu Jingyun, the general manager of Yinan Bank, passed by, but he could not lift Liu Zhijian alone, so he quickly went to find someone. But he never returned because he was captured by the Japanese halfway through.

Liu Zhijian has a photo of his wife Liu Laiying, who has been married for 3 years, and a pocket watch. As soon as he was buried in the pit, the Japanese puppet army surrounded him. Liu Zhijian pulled out his pistol and pulled the trigger on the temple, but the gun did not sound. The trigger was pulled twice, but the gun still did not sound.

Liu Zhijian was captured by the Japanese army and imprisoned in the garrison camp, which is less than 20 kilometers from the county seat of Zaoqiang.

Fourth, Liu Bocheng strictly ordered: To live we must see people, and when we die, we must see corpses

Liu Zhijian was captured by the Japanese army, and his life and death were uncertain, but he was anxious to destroy the Ji'nan Military Region and the Taihang Military Region.

Liu Bocheng, commander of the 129th Division and commander of the Jinji-Hebei Luyu Military Region, gave Chen Zaidao a death order: Rescue Liu Zhijian at all costs, live to see people, and die to see corpses! Chen Zaidao did not dare to be sloppy, and ordered deputy commander Wang Hongkun and Commander Yi Liangpin of the 6th Division to personally go out.

In October, the autumn mood in southern Hebei gradually grew stronger, and Yi Liangpin, the commander of the 6th Division, was not sleepy in the middle of the night.

Suddenly, there was a noise outside the door, followed by a guard at the door and a guard bringing in a puppet army, still carrying a shoe, which was Liu Zhijian's. It turned out that the pistol used by Liu Zhijian was accidentally damaged when the guards cleaned it the day before they set out.

The first 2 puppet soldiers to discover Liu Zhidan, one of whom was a former guard of the 20th Regiment of the Eighth Route Army, although he had gone through several turns and put on the clothes of the puppet army, he still had a conscience and had the heart to help Liu Zhijian escape. Although Liu Zhijian was a political work cadre, he had courage and strategy, reported a false name, and insisted that he was a deputy regimental commander. This puppet army finally got a chance to secretly take a "keepsake" to report the letter.

Although Yi Liangpin was suspicious, he immediately reported to Chen Zaidao, who had already set up six blockade lines on the road from Daying to Zaoqiang County, less than 20 kilometers. After receiving the exact news, he immediately asked Liu Deng and decided to wait for the opportunity to "rob the law field."

Fifth, if it is difficult not to die, there will be a blessing

On October 20, 1942, Japanese Squadron Commander Nomura Nagaharu escorted Liu Zhijian to Zaoqiang County.

However, in order to take over the work alone, this greedy and earnest Nomura Nagaharu neither informed the Zaoqiang Japanese army to take over, nor did he bring a large number of escort troops, only more than 30 Japanese troops and more than 70 puppet troops, ready to secretly escort Liu Zhijian from the camp to Zaoqiang to ask for merit and reward.

Tiger will Chu Daming

The intelligence system of the Eighth Route Army in southern Hebei played a role, and accurate information was obtained in advance, and Chu Daming, deputy commander of the 20th Regiment, led 2 companies to "wait for rabbits" on the halfway. When the weapons of the two companies of the Japanese puppet army entered the ambush circle and opened fire together, the puppet army hid, and more than 30 Japanese troops were killed.

A clean and neat battle of "robbery field" ended quickly, and Liu Zhijian was successfully rescued.

Afterwards, the Japanese army called it "eight roads cunning and cunning", and Chief Liu Deng breathed a long sigh of relief. In 1941, Liu Zhijian was sent to the rear to pass by the headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, and Mr. Peng repeatedly congratulated him on his good fortune.

Later, Yi Liangpin and Chu Daming, who participated in the rescue of Liu Zhijian, died in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the War of Liberation.

Founding Lieutenant General Liu Zhijian

In September 1955, the chairman received the conferred general at Huai Ren Tang and still humorously said to Liu Zhijian: "You are the lame liu who was rescued from the law robbery field!" Liu Zhijian quickly straightened out the report: "Report Chairman, I am that Liu Zhijian." ”

After the founding of New China, Liu Zhijian served as the minister of intelligence, the director and deputy director of the Propaganda Department of the General Political Department, the political commissar of the Academy of Military Sciences, the political commissar of the Kunming Military Region, and the dean and political commissar of the Political Academy. He died on 11 March 2006 at the age of 94.
