The commander of the field troops, who had just won the battle, received an order: immediately switch to intelligence work

On April 29, 1942, more than 30,000 japanese puppet troops carried out an unprecedented-scale sweep of the anti-Japanese base areas in southern Hebei. During this sweep, most of the troops under the Ji'nan Military Region suffered heavy losses, but the 771st Regiment not only did not suffer damage, but also won the battle and annihilated more than a hundred enemy troops.

Jia Jianguo, commander of the 771st Regiment, reported to Song Renqian, political commissar of the Ji'nan Military Region (the founding general), the combat experience of his regiment. He said: "We have focused on the work of the Japanese puppet army in the enemy-occupied areas. We will do everything possible to turn the enemy's stronghold into our hidden place, the Japanese and puppet offices into our intelligence points, our people infiltrating the enemy's heart, and the enemy's every move, we know everything in our hands... ”

The commander of the field troops, who had just won the battle, received an order: immediately switch to intelligence work

One day in October of that year, Jia Jianguo, the commander of the regiment, suddenly received an order from his superiors: "There are urgent tasks, and report to the military region as soon as possible." Jia Jianguo immediately set off on horseback, and a few hours later, arrived at Jinzhuang, a village in the western part of Zaoqiang County, where the Ji'nan Military Region is located.

As soon as they met, The poor political commissar Song Renqi told Jia Jianguo bluntly: "If you come this time, you will not return to the regiment again, and you will be transferred to do intelligence work." At present, carrying out intelligence work is a strategic task, and the task given to you is to quickly establish an intelligence organ of the Southern Hebei Military Region. ”

After the Song political commissar conveyed to Jia Jianguo the decision of the head of the military region, in order to let Jia Jianguo know and understand the important significance and role of establishing an intelligence agency, he summarized and pointed out: The scope of the Ji'nan Military Region, which stretches from the Pinghan Railway in the west, to the Wei River in the east, along the Deshi Railway in the north, and on the banks of the Zhanghe River in the south, there are twenty counties in this land. On April 29, 1942, after the enemy carried out a devastating "sweep" of the southern Hebei region, more than 1,000 strongholds were established, and blockade ditches and blockade walls were dug for 20,000 kilometers. The base areas were almost completely occupied by the enemy, the troops were reduced to pieces, and the commanders and fighters changed into plain clothes, and the situation was very serious. ...... For the sake of the survival of the troops and, in order to defend the anti-Japanese base areas, the higher-level organs instructed us to quickly establish intelligence organs, carry out struggles on the hidden front, know each other and win by surprise.

After some planning, the Intelligence Department of the Ji'nan Military Region was established. In order to keep it secret, Jia Jianguo was called the Senate Office of the Ji'nan Military Region, and Jia Jianguo was the director of the Senate Office, and was actually the deputy director of the Intelligence Department, which was directly led by the head of the Military Region. The main departments under it are: the Intelligence Section is in charge of urban dispatch and intelligence gathering; the Troop Reconnaissance Section is in charge of the dynamics of the surrounding enemy and pseudo-strongholds; and the Materials Sorting And Sorting Section is in charge of sorting out and printing documents. In order to carry out intelligence work, with the approval of the organization, Jia Jianguo joined the Qinghong Gang.

In Xingtai, Jia Jianguo found a gang leader, Wei Fenglin, through gang relations, who lectured on morality and personal feelings, and social relations reached out to all levels and was well-informed. Wang Yang, instructor of the 3rd Battalion of the 771st Regiment, was stationed in Wei Fenglin as Jia Jianguo's representative.

In Handan, Jia Jianguo became acquainted with Jia Maotang. This person is also the Qinghong Gang, and Jia Jianguo has become a helper with him. This person is the leader of the Handan porters, and through him he can understand the situation of handan enemy and pseudo-movements, personnel movements, and material transportation.

In Linqing, this is an important town in northwestern Lu and the meeting point for the Japanese and pseudo-"sweeping" of the base area in southern Hebei. Jia Jianguo sent Wang Wenxiu to serve as a pseudo-district chief in Linqing to spy on the enemy's movements.

In Texas, it was located at the junction of Jilu and Luzhou, and was an important stronghold of the enemy. Jia Jianguo sent Liu Yuntai, a farmer who supported the Eighth Route Army, to invest 700 yuan to open a whip shop as a cover to collect Japanese and false intelligence.

After the establishment of the Intelligence Office of the Ji'nan Military Region, major situations and changes in the enemy-occupied areas were injected into the leading organs of the Ji'nan Military Region like an electric current. On this day, when Jia Jianguo reported the work of the Intelligence Department to Chen Zaidao, commander of the military region (the founding general), and song Renqian, political commissar of the military region, said: "In order to know oneself and know the other, understand and grasp the enemy's actions against our region, you must send people to penetrate the heart of the enemy - Pingjin (Beiping Tianjin) area - to engage in strategic intelligence. Commander Chen also pointed out: "Your vision of intelligence work must be a little farther, and you must go deep into the tiger's den to get the tiger!" ”

According to the instructions of the leaders, the Intelligence Department of the Military Region searched everywhere, conducted in-depth investigations, traveled all over the anti-Japanese base areas in southern Hebei, and drew up a list of celebrities and enlightened gentry in various counties. After summarizing and selecting, a suitable lurking object was found, and he was Wang Jiaxiu, a well-known person in Linzhang County in the southern Hebei region.

Wang Jiaxiu, zi Bi cen, Hebei Linzhang people. In his early years, he served in the direct army and served as a brigade commander as a major general. He and Qi Xieyuan, the commander-in-chief of the pseudo-North China Appeasement Army (also known as the North China Security Army), were classmates of the Baoding Army Officer Academy, and had also served as Qi Xieyuan's subordinates. Qi Xieyuan later fell in defeat in the warlord melee, and Wang Jiaxiu also returned to his hometown to settle down. After the outbreak of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Qi Xieyuan defected to the Japanese and became a traitor, and his position was prominent for a time.

The commander of the field troops, who had just won the battle, received an order: immediately switch to intelligence work

Wang Jiaxiu had a revolutionary family that was politically very reliable. His wife, Wang Shuyuan, was a member of the Communist Party of China and director of the Village Women's Rescue Association; his third daughter, Wang Wanzhen, was the director of the county women's federation and a member of the Communist Party of China; and his son Wang Zixin had already secretly joined the Communist Party of China, serving as a member of the Cheng'an County Party Committee and director of propaganda at that time. Among his relatives, Tang Xingmin, the grandson of his eldest sister's family, is the secretary of the Cheng'an County CPC Committee. Wang Jiaxiu himself is also an enlightened person, with a sense of national justice and a patriotic heart of "the country is in trouble, and the husband is responsible."

Whether from the perspective of social relations or political outlook, Wang Jiaxiu is a very suitable latent candidate. But Wang Jiaxiu was not only old at that time, but also blind in both eyes. In this case, is he personally willing to take on this heavy responsibility?

Jia Jianguo sent people to find Tang Xingmin, secretary of the Cheng'an County PARTY Committee, and asked him to mobilize Wang Jiaxiu's relatives and friends to persuade him to go out of the mountain. Commander Chen Zaidao also wrote a handwritten letter to Wang Jiaxiu, mobilizing him to accept the lurking mission. Under the persuasion of everyone, especially the encouragement of Commander Chen Zaidao's letter, Wang Jiaxiu said: "Personal honor and disgrace are left behind, and the rise and fall of the country is the ambition of the great husband." ”

After Wang Jiaxiu accepted the lurking mission, he first had people write a letter to Qi Xieyuan in his name. Saying that he has an eye disease, he wants to treat Peking and hopes that Qi Xieyuan will give him a convenience. Qi Xieyuan quickly returned the handwritten letter, saying that Wang Jiaxiu was welcome to Beiping for treatment, that there was no problem in accommodation, that the hospital could contact the best hospital, that he was responsible for all expenses, and so on.

The commander of the field troops, who had just won the battle, received an order: immediately switch to intelligence work

After receiving the reply, Wang Jiaxiu immediately went to Beiping with his family. Tang Xingmin, secretary of the Cheng'an County CPC Committee, changed his name to Wang Pengfei and, as Wang Jiaxiu's nephew, went together to assist Wang Jiaxiu in his work.

Qi Xieyuan warmly received Wang Jiaxiu, and in addition to arranging for Wang Jiaxiu to seek medical treatment, he also gave Wang Jiaxiu the position of major general senator. Tang Xingmin was placed as a secretary and thus infiltrated the enemy and puppet organs.

At the same time, Ma Zisheng, a gentleman of Nangong County, also went to Beiping and asked him to break into Qi Xieyuan's department to counter the secret section chief and fellow villager Ma Guozeng. Two months later, Jia Jianguo sent Atletico and his wife to Pingping to seek self-employment and stand by in hiding; Cheng Cheng, a staff officer from Beiping, also returned to his hometown, mobilizing his sister-in-law and nanny to assist in carrying out activities.

In order to form an underground intelligence network in Tianjin, Jia Jianguo sent Wang Xi, who had worked in the Linqing County Party Committee, to Tianjin to establish an intelligence point.

After several months of arduous efforts, the Intelligence Service of the Southern Hebei Military Region established a strategic intelligence network in the Pingjin area.

In May 1943, Jia Jianguo was transferred to the Intelligence Department of the Forward Headquarters of the Eighth Route Army, specializing in Qi Xieyuan's struggle. Prior to this, in January 1943, Jia Jianguo, as a representative of the Eighth Route Army, secretly went to Beiping, hoping to interview Qi Xieyuan through Wang Jiaxiu's relationship, but Qi Xieyuan refused.

In June 1943, Jia Jianguo came to Beiping again. Through connections, he registered in Beiping, applied for a formal residence permit, and lurked for a long time. Of course, his first job was still on Qi Xieyuan's side.

The commander of the field troops, who had just won the battle, received an order: immediately switch to intelligence work

Unexpectedly, a month later, in July 1943, the major newspapers in Peiping published the news of Qi Xieyuan's resignation in large characters, and the Beiping Radio Station also broadcast the same news. The streets and alleys of Beiping are full of discussions and suspicions about this.

Qi Xieyuan's sudden downfall caused Jia Jianguo to lose his job partner. He hurried back to the forward headquarters of the Eighth Route Army to report on his work. Shen Bochun, former deputy director of the General Intelligence Department, analyzed that Qi Xieyuan was a person who was "unwilling to do this, and it is impossible to rise again." Although he is no longer on the stage, he can still use his social relations to play a role in the future recovery of the starting point of North China, and the work of fighting for alignment should be done to win and see Qi Xieyuan." Learn the real reasons for his downfall and get a glimpse of enemy movements.

Therefore, Jia Jianguo soon returned to Beiping and continued to engage in intelligence and counter-insurgency work. During this period, Jia Jianguo became acquainted with Qi Xieyuan's cheng mingzhai (Qi's army university classmate), Chen Banhou (who served as Qi's secretary general), Tian Wenbing (Qi's close confidant, who served as a pseudo-governor) and others. These people have played a great role in helping Jia Jianguo in carrying out intelligence work.

In November 1944, even ordinary people could see the inevitable failure of the Axis powers. In this situation, Qi Xieyuan finally agreed to meet Jia Jianguo, the representative of the Eighth Route Army.

On this day, accompanied by Wang Jiaxiu and Cheng Mingzhai, Jia Jianguo came to Qi Xieyuan's home in Tianjin. As soon as they met, Qi Xieyuan said a lot of words to justify himself as a traitor: "I am not a traitor. Chiang Kai-shek gave north China to the enemy, and I Qi Mou only went out of the mountains to save north China's father and elder, and I am now recuperating and waiting for the opportunity. During the puppet Manchu era, the Japanese asked me to go to Manchukuo as prime minister, and I managed to get out, and this time I had to do it, otherwise I would be in danger of being beheaded. I Qi Mou is not willing to be a traitor, I am also a dignified Chinese, I can't save the country, I want to save the people. ”

The commander of the field troops, who had just won the battle, received an order: immediately switch to intelligence work

After Jia Jianguo listened to Qi Xieyuan's words, he suddenly asked: "After listening to Mr. Qi's words, I understand very well, but you have been doing things for the Japanese for many years, why did they let you step down?" Qi Xieyuan could not reply for a moment, and then he said, "The relationship with the Japanese is not good, and they don't trust me." ”

"You have exceeded the authority of the Japanese to control you." Jia Jianguo pointed it out to the point, while Qi Xieyuan looked at Jia Jianguo with surprised eyes.

Jia Jianguo analyzed: "Japan's rule over China is divided and ruled, and it must not let real power fall into the hands of Chinese. Your two regroupments, known as the 200,000 security forces, are actually only 100,000 people, and you are seizing military power. Tian Wenbing of Henan, Du Xijun of Hebei, and Du yang of Shandong,...... It's all your people, you're grabbing power. This is the main contradiction between you and the Japanese, you have offended the interests of the Japanese, they will definitely pull you down! ”

Qi Xieyuan listened to Jia Jianguo's words and trembled as if he had been pricked by a needle, and Wang Jiaxiu and Cheng Mingzhai who accompanied him also nodded their heads in praise.

Next, Jia Jianguo analyzed the international and domestic situation in a firm tone: "The War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression will certainly be victorious, and it will soon be victorious. Judging from the international situation, Hitler in the Axis countries has been defeating and retreating, and Germany is the axis, and if the axis does not rotate, the wheel will not turn. The Soviet Union will win. The United States joined the Allies in a war against Japan to show its might. On the battlefield in China, Chiang Kai-shek acted as a scavenger for the Japanese, actively opposed communism, and passively resisted Japan, but he could not stop the anti-Japanese torrent of the entire Chinese nation. ”

Then, Jia Jianguo took the opportunity to propagate the policy of the Chinese Communist Party: "As long as those who have done things for the Japanese actively participate in the anti-Japanese resistance and hold uprisings, we will not be blamed in the past." The strength of North China is in our hands, and the liberation of North China is none other than me. If you resolutely act as a traitor, the people will not forgive. It is impossible for you to defect to Chiang Kai-shek, and your relationship with Chiang Kai-shek is well known to the world, so why has your Fifth Army not been established? You have sold your house and family property, and if you want to buy a group army commander, Jiang Will Not Give It. Chiang Kai-shek is a big hooligan, and those who follow us will prosper, and those who oppose us will perish. In the words of our Communist Party, Chiang Kai-shek fights and pulls at the miscellaneous armies, eats them when they pull them over, and destroys them if they can't pull them. ”

After a few rounds, Qi Xieyuan, who was originally on his toes, converged a lot. He bowed his head and said:

"Mr. Jia, although I stepped down, I did not sit idle. As soon as I stepped down, I sent people to the Commander of Mongolia, Xiacun Ding, and we had a very close relationship, and he might replace Okamura Ningji in transferring to North China, and as soon as he was transferred, I could be reinstated as an official. Although I am not on the stage now, most of the senior military and political cadres in North China are my subordinates, and I still have 8,000 students at the Qinghe Officers' School, all of whom are the backbone of the North China Public Security Army. For several years, I have been working hard to train cadres, and when the time comes, as long as I wave a hand, I will respond to everything. In the future, I will definitely resist Japan, cooperate with the Eighth Route Army, divide labor and cooperate, and return to the same destination. Wang Jiaxiu and Cheng Mingzhai wasted no time in holding a sentence next to them: "The big handsome is good, high view, high view, only in this way can we have a great future, we are all descendants of Yan Huang, and we must not send people to the fence."

"As soon as I am reinstated, I will set up a radio station here, and I will have direct contact with Chairman Mao and Commander-in-Chief Zhu." I have passed the flower armor this year, but I am not yet old, and I still want to do a career. The more Qi Xieyuan said, the more excited he became.

The commander of the field troops, who had just won the battle, received an order: immediately switch to intelligence work

At the right time, the words that both sides had to say at this meeting were said. On the way back, Wang Jiaxiu stretched out a trembling hand, caressed Jia Jianguo's shoulder and said, "Mr. Jia, I admire your courage!"

Teng Daiyuan, chief of staff of the Eighth Route Army, was very satisfied with the talks and held that they were just right, not humble or profane, and not to lose the majesty of our party and our army.

In August 1945, Japan announced its surrender, but due to the sudden change of circumstances and the hesitation of Qi Xieyuan himself, this counter-action failed to complete its full success (Qi Xieyuan was sentenced to death for "traitor" in 1946). However, during this period, Jia Jianguo and his intelligence group still carried out a lot of work and obtained a lot of intelligence. For example, after Japan's surrender, Jia Jianguo, through Chen Banhou, obtained the minutes of the secret meeting of the Kuomintang high-level held in Beiping in November of that year. Participants included Li Zongren, director of the North Parallel Battalion of the Kuomintang Military Commission, Chen Lifu, head of the CC Department, Zhu Jiahua, minister of education, and Sun Lianzhong, commander of the 11th Theater. The meeting determined the kuomintang's strategic steps in north China: First, first, open the Beiping, Zhangjiakou, and Suiyuan lines, and cut off the main traffic routes from Yan'an, the seat of the CPC Central Committee, to the northeast; second, open the line from Beiping to Shanhaiguan and cut off the connection between the CPC's central Hebei troops and the eastern Hebei region; third, take over Qinhuangdao, control the northeast, and make direct contact with Xiong Shihui and Du Yuming in the northeast; fourth, open up the Pinghan Road, occupy Shijiazhuang, fight north from Anyang, and fight south from Baozhong; fifth, open up Jinpu Road. Its approach is first south and then north .... This important strategic intelligence was quickly reported to the central authorities.

In December 1945, Jia Jianguo was betrayed and arrested and imprisoned. In March 1947, after Jia Jianguo was rescued from prison, he was transferred to the field army and successively served as the chief of staff of the 41st Brigade of the 14th Column and the 209th Division, participating in the Battle of Eastern Henan and the Battle of Huaihai. After the liberation of the whole country, Jia Jianguo successively served as deputy chief of staff of the Artillery Department of the North China Military Region, director of the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Division of the Artillery Department of the Central Military Commission, first vice president of the Anti-Aircraft Artillery School, deputy director of the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Department of the Artillery Department of the Central Military Commission, and deputy director of the Training Department of the Artillery Academy. Jia Jianguo died in Beijing in September 1988 at the age of 76.
