A telegram from Peng Dehuai and Li Fuchun to Lin Biao and Nie Rongzhen on the situation in the north

(17:00, 10 September 1935)

Lin, Nie:

(1) Zhang Guotao violated the strategic guidelines and ordered the Right Route Army to advance southward, and the Central Committee had sent a telegram to reprimand him (which must not be issued).

(2) The Central Committee today led all the three armies and the column of the Central Military Commission to seize [arrive] and take the border, and tomorrow they will reach the Russian border.

(3) Take the situation along the route from the border to the Russian border, how to restore the conditions of supply, and please prepare all three armies to enter the camp of the Central Military Commission column.

Peng Dehuai and Li Fuchun sent a telegram to Lin Biao and Nie Rongzhen on the situation in the north

(20:00 on September 10, 1935)

(1) On the eleventh day of the Ming Dynasty, the three armies and the column of the Central Military Commission entered the camp of Goose (Russian Boundary).

(ii) The First Army is expected to move north of goose grid tomorrow.

(3) Your guard troops at Ege and the garrisons of the bridges on various passes and bridges must be replaced by our army one by one.

In order to implement the established policy, the central authorities ordered Zhang Guotao to immediately lead the Left Route Army north

Comrade Guotao:

(a) In order to implement its own strategic policy, the Central Committee once again instructed General Political Commissar Zhang to immediately lead the Left Route Army to March toward Banyou and Brazil, without making mistakes.

(b) The Central Committee has decided that the Right Route Army will be under the guidance of Comrade Zhou Enlai, vice chairman of the Central Military Commission, and has ordered the First and Third Armies to be concentrated in Roda and Russia.
