Since the 1840s, when the Western powers opened the door of China with strong ships and cannons, the Qing Dynasty was no longer the "heavenly kingdom" of the pilgrimage of all nations, but under the crushing pressure of the Western colonizers, it tore off the last fig leaf, exposing the decay and inability of the Manchu Qing to the fullest.
In the face of national difficulties, groups of patriotic and righteous people have stood up and fought for the protection of national sovereignty and the interests of the people, including some outstanding women, such as Qiu Jin, who calmly went to her death. Entering the Republic of China, the country fell into war and strife, and more female compatriots threw themselves into the revolutionary cause, such as Xiang Jingyu, Yang Kaihui, Cai Chang, and so on.
Coincidentally, these female revolutionary pioneers all studied at the Zhounan Girls' School, and our protagonist today is not Zhu Jianfan, the founder of the Zhounan Girls' School, but his daughter Zhu Zhongzhi.
Great father
Zhu Zhongzhi was born in Changsha, Hunan in 1904, and her father, Zhu Jianfan, was a well-known figure in modern education.
Mr. Zhu Lao's ancestor was Zhu Yuanzhang, the founding emperor of the Ming Dynasty. Although in the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, many of Zhu's descendants lost their lives in the war, his ancestral lineage was retained, and after the political situation of the Qing court was stabilized, he was also awarded an official title by the imperial court to show the emperor's grace.
It has been passed down to Zhu Jianfan's father's generation, who served as a soldier Shangshu and is a major minister of the state, and under the management of several generations, the Zhu family has a rich family business and has thousands of acres of good land, it can be said that the children of the Zhu family have come to this world with a golden spoon.
The Zhu family had all the money and power, but they were strict about the education of their children, and Zhu Jianfan, who liked to read, rushed to Japan to study in his early years, and when Sun Yat-sen founded the League association in Tokyo, Japan, Zhu Jianfan joined the revolutionary organization, and was fortunate to get acquainted with some outstanding revolutionaries such as Huang Xing and Chen Tianhua.
Although he could not devote himself wholeheartedly to the anti-Qing struggle, under the influence of progressive ideas, he advocated equality between men and women, and supported women to have the same social status as men. After returning to China, in order to realize this great ideal, Zhu Jianfan used a large mansion assigned to him by his family as a venue and built a girls' school, which is the famous Zhounan Girls' School.
It is not enough to have a space, but also a lot of money to build a school building and buy all the tools for teaching. Even if many students who come to school do not have much money to pay tuition fees after the start of school, as long as they have excellent grades, they can reduce tuition fees, but the teaching staff still have to be paid.
For the Zhounan Girls' School, Zhu Jianfan invested a lot of energy and money, and even his wife sold his jewelry, which cultivated a number of female elites, and cost Zhu Jianfan 110,000 silver yuan before and after.
First marriage
Zhu Zhongzhi is the third child in the family, and her childhood education was also completed at Zhounan Girls' School. Under the strict discipline of his father, Zhu Jianfan excelled in his studies, passed the examination many years later, and entered the Jinling Women's University in Nanjing.
Being able to enter this nationally renowned institution is not only Zhu Zhongzhi's outstanding studies, but also her extraordinary origin. Jinling Women's University is not like Zhounan Girls' School, which can give students tuition exemptions, and can even be said to be a high-cost institution, fortunately, Zhu Zhongzhi has such a background to obtain such a favorable learning environment.
Years of university life have enhanced her knowledge and literacy, broadened her horizons, and changed her outlook on life. Influenced by progressive ideas, she threw herself into the revolutionary cause and formally joined the Communist Party in 1927.
Shortly after she joined the party, a counter-revolutionary coup d'état occurred in Changsha, and In order to protect Mr. Zhu Lao, Li Fuchun immediately sent someone to escort his family to Hankou and temporarily resettled them in his home.
It was during this period that Zhu Zhongzhi had her first love and marriage.
Xiao Jinguang had a good relationship with Li Fuchun, and at the recommendation of Li Fuchun that year, Xiao Jinguang was sent to the Second Division of the Second Army of the National Revolutionary Army as a party representative. Xiao Jinguang would visit Li Fuchun and Cai Chang when he had time.
The purpose of this visit was not only to discuss state affairs with friends, but also to meet Zhu Jianfan, a famous educator. Although the two are meeting for the first time, they have endless topics, more like close friends who have not seen each other for a long time.
Seeing that Mr. Zhu's impression of Xiao Jinguang was very good, and thinking that this old brother Xiao was not yet married, Li Fuchun and his wife discussed whether they could match the two to become Weng's son-in-law. They told Mr. Zhu Lao's idea, and Zhu Jianfan of course agreed, so it depended on whether Zhu Zhongzhi was willing or not.
Things went more smoothly than expected, and the two fell in love at first sight and quickly established a relationship. The cruel struggle environment left them little time to talk about love, and the two got married after a few months.
For more than ten years, the two went to the Soviet Union to study together, and then rushed to the Central Soviet Region to participate in the anti-"encirclement and suppression" struggle, and when her husband was wronged, Zhu Zhongzhi did not leave him, but accompanied him through the most difficult life troughs. Unexpectedly, the two did not spend their lives together, but ended the marriage in 1940.

A few years later, Zhu Zhongzhi and Xing Zhaotang formed a new family.
Fortunately, under the arrangement of the party organization, he entered the Liberated Areas in 1940, joined the people's camp, and was entrusted with important tasks. In 1943, when he rushed to Yan'an to study, he was introduced to Zhu Zhongzhi and fell in love with him, and married a revolutionary couple.
A few years later, Zhu Zhongzhi and Xing Zhaotang ushered in the founding of New China, and she has been with her husband for the rest of her life. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Zhu Zhongzhi's ex-husband became a founding general, and Xing Zhaotang's achievements were also remarkable, he once served as the chairman of the Ningxia People's Government, and later transferred to Henan as vice governor.
It is worth mentioning that at this time, Zhu Zhongzhi's brother-in-law, Zhu Zhongli's husband Wang Jiaxiang, also became the secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee and became a leader at the vice-state level.
