Wang Jiaxiang, a native of Jing County, Anhui Province, joined the revolution at the age of 19, and later entered Sun Yat-sen University to study, and after returning to China, he served as director of the General Political Department of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army, a member of the Central Three-Member Military Group, a member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee, a member of the People's Commissar of Foreign Affairs, and a vice chairman of the Central Revolutionary Military Commission.
When he met Zhu Zhongli, Wang Jiaxiang was 32 years old, and at that time, he had already experienced two marriages, his original wife was called Zha Ruixiang, who was an arranged marriage, married for only 1 year, and died after childbirth. During his studies in the Soviet Union, Wang Jiaxiang married a Ukrainian girl, but unfortunately, this marriage was still 1 year, and the two divorced for various reasons. Since then, Wang Jiaxiang has been busy with the revolution and has never talked about marriage until he met Zhu Zhongli.
Gradually, Zhu Zhongli also fell in love with this bookish revolutionary. Soon after marriage, Zhu Zhongli had a child, but because of Zhu Zhongli's health, the child was eventually removed. At that time, it was a critical moment in the anti-Japanese resistance, Wang Jiaxiang and Zhu Zhongli were very busy at work, and Zhu Zhongli discussed with Wang Jiaxiang whether to have children. Later, Zhu Zhongli underwent ligature surgery, and the couple did not have children in their lives.
After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Wang Jiaxiang served as the first vice minister of foreign affairs and the first ambassador to the Soviet Union, and Zhu Zhongli became the ambassador's wife.
