Before teaching at Zhejiang University, Shu Xingbei studied and taught in many overseas schools, and because he admired the name of Einstein, he left the United States with two papers and went to Berlin, Germany, to pay respects to this world-famous scientist, who was later hired by him as a research assistant and worked in his research room for a period of time. As a result of racial discrimination, Einstein's scientific research was affected. For this reason, Shu Xingbei had to leave Berlin and go to England to study. However, his relationship with Einstein did not end, and after returning to China in 1931, he continued to study the theory of relativity. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he completed China's first "Special Relativity", which was published and distributed in the 1990s. Shu Xingbei, who returned to China, worked as a physics instructor at the Central Army Officer School in Nanjing. One day, Chiang Kai-shek came to the school to inspect and received Shu Xingbei and several other officers. At that time, shortly after the "January 28" incident, Shu Xingbei believed that it was reasonable for the Shanghai garrison to disobey the government's order not to resist and the Japanese army to fight a bloody battle, and the armistice agreement signed between the Nationalist government and Japan was an act of compromise, so he argued with Chiang Kai-shek, who at that time said "you are too young to understand politics" and left with his sleeves folded. Later, Shu Xingbei learned that Chiang Kai-shek was still chattering about this matter, believing that the amount of gas was too small, so he resigned his official post and went to Zhejiang University to teach.
In Zhejiang University, Shu Xingbei is also a prominent figure. At that time, the famous physicist Boer came to Zhejiang University to give a lecture, and Shu Xingbei discussed with him the idea of the composite nucleus and droplet model of the atomic nucleus, as well as his own controversy with Einstein. During Bohr's lectures, Shu Xingbei was not only asking for advice, but also arguing. Bohr's son mentioned Shu Xingbei several times in his diary, saying that young physicists, especially Dr. Shu, had a lively discussion with his father. After Bohr returned to China, many Chinese university teachers and students wrote to him to discuss problems in physics and asked about ways to study abroad. Bohr's answer: China has such a good physicist as Shu Xingbei, why do you have to go out to study physics?
After the founding of New China, the colleges and universities were adjusted, and Shu Xingbei was transferred to Shandong University to teach. At that time, the school invited the famous thermodynamicist Wang Zhuxi to give an academic report. When the report was underway, Beam Star walked north to the podium without any explanation, and said directly on the podium: "I need to interrupt, because I think Mr. Wang's report is full of errors, and he has not understood the nature of thermodynamics." Shu Xingbei was sexually upset, and Su Buqing was falsely accused of embezzling school things and wanted to prove his innocence by dying at home. When Shu Xingbei heard the news, he was furious and attacked his heart, so he ran to the school management office alone, saw that the steward was talking to others, and reached out and grabbed it: "Do you know who Su Buqing is?" You're something! "A punch passed, and the man's nose bled. Su Buqing was fine, and Shu Xingbei was punished for this matter. Shu Xingbei's personality did not suffer a loss, and his youngest daughter once visited Shu Xingbei's friend Wang Ganchang before his death, saying: Father should treat people as a person, and it would be good to have half of Uncle Ganchang. Who knows, the old man's face, which has always been gentle, appeared angry, and Wang Ganchang said to her: "What your father said is what we want to say and did not say, and what your father did was something that we simply could not do." He didn't have any problems, he was just different from us! ”
In 1972, li Zhengdao returned to China and wrote a letter to Shu Xingbei, who worked at Qingdao Medical College, specifically mentioning: "The teachings of Mr. Li when he was in Yongxing Meitan have been read by all the time. In 1979, when China launched an intercontinental missile for the first time, Western countries did not hesitate to use all technical means to track the landing point of the intercontinental missile, hoping to get the warhead data capsule in advance. Once lost, the consequences are unimaginable. To this end, the state has allocated millions of dollars to do simulated experimental research. At that time, the leader of the State Oceanic Administration asked Shu Xingbei for advice, and he took out a fountain pen, a calculator, and a few stacks of paper, and it took ten minutes to figure it out. Later results verified the accuracy of Beam Star North's calculations, and the salvage team took only 5 minutes and 20 seconds to successfully retrieve the warhead data capsule. In 1983, Shu Xingbei died. Before his death, he told his colleagues: "The internal wave is an important marine dynamic phenomenon and has important significance for national defense. You must do a good job. ”
