Read the first of the Ten Thousand Classics, understand the ways of the world, and study the second chapter of the Tao Te Ching

Let's study the second chapter of the Tao Te Ching today and work together.

Original text: The world knows that beauty is beautiful, and evil has been. Everyone knows that what is good is good, and what is not good is good. Therefore, there is no symbiosis, difficult and easy to form, long and short, high and low, sound and sound, and follow each other. It is to do nothing for the saints, to teach without saying, to do all things without resignation, to be born without being, to be ashamed of them, to live in vain for their achievements, and not to go.

Translation: Everyone in the world knows what beauty is, and there is a corresponding ugliness, and everyone knows what is good, and there is evil. Therefore, there is no opposition, difficulty and ease are opposite, the length and shortness are contrasted and revealed, the high and low are controlled, the sound and sound are harmonious and harmonious, and the front and back follow each other. Therefore, the saints treat the world in the way of "doing nothing", educate the people in the way of "not speaking", let all things rise without interfering, give birth to all things without possessing, nurture all things without self-esteem, and accomplish success without self-esteem, and because they do not take credit, so merit is eternal.

Study Notes: In the second chapter, Lao tzu's idea of inaction first appeared, and doing nothing is the basis of Lao Tzu's philosophical thought, and it is common to Confucius's "do whatever you want and not exceed the rules" because of inaction. My understanding of inaction is to act in accordance with the laws of nature and respect social rules, which requires a deep understanding and understanding of natural laws and social rules, reverence for nature, reverence for legal rules, and ensuring that we are on the right path.

For "therefore there is no symbiosis, difficult and easy to become, long and short, high and low, sound and sound, before and after", my understanding is that the opposite is unified, the world is not black and white, not right or wrong, especially in real life, the people and things encountered, we may see a look, behind this superficial phenomenon there may be another look, so it is not easy to deny one thing to a person. To see the good aspects of things, but also to see the aspects of things that may not be good, to see people the same, to see both the strengths and weaknesses. Try to make things develop in a good way, let people play to his strengths, restrain his weaknesses, this is also the meaning of the human law.

The Buddhist concept of "cause and effect" is also involved here. Nothing is the cause, there is the effect, there is nothing out of nothing, the difficulty is the cause of the easy is the effect, there is the high and the low, there is the front and the back, everything in the world is inseparable from cause and effect, inseparable from complementarity. Therefore, the three schools of Buddhism and Confucianism, that is, they are both connected and different, and the learning of thinking and the proof of practice are practices.

Postscript: I am also a beginner, but I like the Tao Te Ching, right and wrong are my own understanding, please correct the deficiencies.
