Read the first chapter of the Ten Thousand Sutras, the Tao Te Ching, the Way of Enlightenment

author:No dispute

Start studying the Tao Te Ching today. First, let's briefly introduce the Tao Te Ching. The Tao Te Ching, also known as Lao Tzu, was written by Li Er, a native of the late Spring and Autumn Period. The Tao Te Ching is divided into two parts, the Tao Te Ching and the De Jing, the Dao Jing is the first chapter, from one chapter to thirty-seven chapters, and the De Jing is the second, from thirty-eight to eighty-one chapters. The "Tao Te Ching" is known by posterity as the first of the Ten Thousand Classics, talking about the mysterious and wonderful, can be described as simple and rich, covering ancient and modern, the book contains a profound realm and rich philosophical thinking, truly understand and apply, can cultivate the body and mind, govern the country in the world, can be hidden, can be hidden, can be hidden.

Before studying the Tao Te Ching, we must first clearly point out that it is necessary to distinguish between Taoism and Taoism, Taoism was an academic school in the Spring and Autumn period and the Warring States Period, Taoism is a traditional religion in China, and the Tao Te Ching is a Taoist classic, and it is also listed as a classic by Taoism.

I am ready to use a period of time to study all the contents of the eighty-one chapters of the Tao Te Ching in chapters, and at the same time share the study notes, practice with my peers, for no other purpose, as a later study, it must be wrong and wrong, no mistake can not be grown, therefore, I hope that the same way will point out the wrong, the right is not correct to the correction is the practice, and then thank you.

In the process of study, I will learn from the explanatory articles of the Tao Te Ching written by many sages, understand them myself, and if it involves infringement, I will point out the deletion.

Chapter 1 deals with the Tao

Original text: Dao ke Dao, extraordinary Dao, name can be named, very famous. Nameless, the beginning of heaven and earth, famous, the mother of all things, so there is always no desire to look at its wonders, and there is always a desire to look at its wonders. The two have the same name, the same name, the same name of Xuan, Xuan and Xuan, the door of all wonders.

Translation: The "Tao" that can be said is not the eternal Word, and the name that can be said is not the eternal name. Nameless, the state of the heavens and the earth when they were not open, the name, the appearance of the beginning of all things. We must always understand the mysteries of the Tao from nothing, and always experience the feelings of the Tao from being. The same source is only a different name, non-harmony can be called mysterious and far-reaching, understanding the internal relationship between non-existence and existence is the way to understand all things in heaven and earth.

Study Notes: The Tao and name taught in the first chapter, existence and non-existence are the most critical contents of the Tao Te Ching. The first chapter that made me understand most deeply was "always have no desire to see its wonders, often have desire to look at its wonders", if you want to understand the "Tao", this sentence is the most critical tip point. In my own understanding, thinking that Lao Tzu's so-called "Tao" refers to the basis of the formation of the universe and the rules for the creation of all things reminds me of the "singularity" theory proposed by Hawking in A Brief History of Time. The so-called "singularity", that is, the moment when the big bang of the universe, that is, the moment when everything in the world is produced, is magically consistent with Lao Tzu's "Tao".

Postscript: I am also a beginner, but I just want to share my feelings about studying the Tao Te Ching with my fellow practitioners, and I hope to correct my shortcomings. In the future, we will strive to study one chapter a day, and look forward to learning the Tao Te Ching, while improving ourselves, we can promote this classic of Traditional Chinese Studies full of dialectical thinking with everyone and carry forward the Chinese context.
