Xu Chun, 32, is accused of killing Lin Wenjing at a takeaway restaurant in Ronda Sainonthavshire. The girl lives with her mother, Xu Meifang, and stepfather, Jiang Yongquan.
A jury at the local criminal court was told That Xu Chun was a gambler who owed the family £14,000 (about 120,000 yuan). Prosecutor Michael Jones told the court that Xu Chun had searched the Internet for the phrase "Can fingerprints be burned off?" an hour before the murder was suspected.

It is reported that the defendant Xu Chun denied the charges of murder and attempted murder, but admitted to killing Lin Wenjing by mistake and illegally injuring Jiang Yongquan. The case is still pending.
It was previously reported that more than 20 local emergency service vehicles and air rescue helicopters arrived at the scene after the incident.
