Wuwei was one of the activities of the Xirong clan before the Warring States period, and xirong was one of the ancient tribes in China, the ancestor of the Qiang and clan people. During the Qin Dynasty, Wuwei was occupied by Yuezhi and Wusun, the Yue clan, the meat branch of chinese texts, the Yu clan, which was a nomadic tribe that operated in the pre-Qin period west of Lanzhou to the Hexi Corridor. Wusun is an indigenous ethnic group living in the Hexi region at the same time as the Yue clan, mainly nomadic.
The Huns were a people that had a major influence on the ancient East and ancient Europe. The Xiongnu are the ancient northern nomadic tribes in China, and the social economy of the Xiongnu people is mainly based on animal husbandry, living in blanket tents, drinking milk with horse milk wine, and living a nomadic life of migrating water and grass.
Wuwei was then the stronghold of the Xiongnu King Xiutu, who built a Hutu City as a royal palace on the banks of the Shiyang River in Guzang (present-day Sancha Village, Siba Town, Liangzhou District), with a site of 400 meters from north to south and 200 meters from east to west, located in the corridor plain north out of the Mongolian plateau, with a very important military position. Later, Gaizang City was built in the land of present-day Wuwei, which was later called Guzang City, which was the earliest city in Wuwei, dating back more than 2,100 years. At that time, the "Zizhi Tongjian" of Wuwei," which had a large area, said: "Among the big cities of Wuwei, there are seven small cities."
After the completion of Guzang City, it became the political center of Wuwei and has always appeared in historical records. The establishment of Guzang City is a major event in the history of Wuwei, and it is also an important witness to the joint development and construction of Wuwei by many ethnic groups.
