From 1932 to 1933, a great famine broke out in the southern grain-producing regions of the SOVIET Union, which covered 50 million people in the southern part of the Soviet Union, including Kazakhstan, the North Caucasus, Ukraine, and other places, causing the deaths of millions of people. At this time, the Soviet Union had just bid farewell to the Great Famine, and the celebration ceremony of the October Revolution was still held.

On November 7, 1917, the Bolshevik armed forces, led by Lenin, launched a general offensive against the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, the seat of the bourgeois Provisional Government, overthrowing the Provisional Government and establishing Soviet power. Therefore, it happened on October 25, 1917 (November 7 of the Gregorian calendar) in the Russian calendar, so it is called the "October Revolution".
